fairly late last year i had a large commission fizzle on me out of the blue. i'd done the draft work for a pic and comic, which made it pretty big scope, but then the commissioner disappeared on me after the last proof was sent, and the error i surely made to lose it got into my head for some time

Marvellous way to start the new year. My art pc has given up entirely and no longer boots. Apologies for those with a commission waiting, this pc may be ancient but it's always been reliable so I didn't foresee this so suddenly. Seems like a drive issue, it uses 3 so hoping it's just a OS reinstall

That's nice, both of my monitors failed at basically the same time so I needed two new ones. On one hand it's good to have a reason to replace the faded flickery things after eight years, on the other hand that blows a hole in my budget bigger than expected, so I might try for a few commissions
