Columbia has many low income students and the most veterans of any ivy. Columbia is not the same as a public, but it doesn’t mean we sniff and survive. Your tone is sadly divisive when what we need is to STICK TOGETHER. Divided we cannot fight back to preserve education, research, and this country.

US-trained SpaceX and Tesla employees all went to institutions supported by federal grants, many likely with federal financial aid. If they did research, that was probably on federal support. The human capacity that drives these companies is federally funded. We have to get the word out on this!

Thanks for identifying the cost that we all pay to have weather and warnings. With the way this is going, it’s easy to see that in a few years we may all be asked to pay $20+/month to subscribe to such essential services. Expensive because a for profit enterprise, and we all are poorer for it.
