Dotty Turnbull and Kate Neall Tesco 1995-2004 RIP Prunella Scales, the "shopper from hell" in Tesco's successful campaign which saw price-obsessed Dotty drag daughter Kate (Jane Horrocks) along on her shopping trips, bossing her and the staff around. Plans to revive her in 2015 did not materialise.

I don't think Prunella Scales was capable of a bad performance. She wouldn't have known how. This morning though, I'm just thinking of her avenging dervish when she realises what Basil and O'Reilly have done to her hotel in "The Builders". You can actually taste Basil's terror as she storms in.
