We're happy to share that our adorable Cape buffalo calf has been named Kai! Mira Fine, a generous DZCA supporter, chose the name Kai because it means “ocean” in Hawaiian and follows the water-themed names of the calf's parents, Rain and Boots. Mira is also honoring a “Kai” in her own life.

Earlier this spring, DZCA joined Denver Mountain Parks, Colorado State University, and Lewis TallBull for two important bison immobilization field days at Daniels Park. This collaboration helps us monitor and care for one of the oldest bison herds in Colorado.
