One of my favorite features in Movie Tracker is Smart Lists. You choose the filters and the app builds the list automatically. Want a “Favorites of 2025” list? Done. “Unwatched Critics’ Picks”? Easy. They update on their own, so you can focus on watching, not sorting.

When I built the first version of Movie Tracker, it only did one thing: store movie recommendations from my friends. Then users asked for watch history, ratings, Smart Lists, and iCloud sync.

Letterboxd is perfect for sharing opinions, reading reviews and being part of a community. But what if you just want to organize your movies privately, without social feeds or comments? That’s where Movie Tracker comes in. It’s designed for people who love cinema but prefer simplicity.

I built Movie Tracker to make it easy to keep track of everything you watch and everything you still want to see. You can add movies or TV shows in seconds. Each title shows cast, directors, release year, genres, and rating info.

A few years ago, my wife kept accidentally buying the same books twice. She’s a passionate reader, but her collection was so big that she couldn’t remember what she already owned.

Every time a friend recommended a movie or a TV show, I thought, “I’ll save it somewhere”. But then I’d forget the title. Notes, screenshots, text messages, nothing worked. I wanted one place to keep all those suggestions organized, along with the movies I’d already watched.
