It is not surprising to me that Trumpism has gained so much traction within evangelicalism because they have created a new Christianity that doesn’t actually require anyone to BE Christian. Their gospel does not call for repentance - it merely lightly suggests it while offering Jesus as a loophole.

it's important to remember, trump's admin used this exact same tactic back in 2017. try to overwhelm the public with hundreds of terrible executive order, make people doom-spiral so they don't resist. but they couldn't stop police stations burning in 2020. don't despair, fight back.

alright you wanna know how to support trans people? hire them. It's REALLY hard already for visibly trans people to get jobs, even before this shit. Support places that have trans people working front of house, and make sure owners know that's part of why you're there.

TLDR: There is nothing enforceable for the immediate future. It will take months or years to implement this via rulemaking or bureaucratic changes which are then subject to legal challenge. While it's worrying, there's no immediate change yet for most trans people. Do not comply in advance.

Today in “other duties as assigned” in the church office, today I had to make use of my one Spanish class over a decade ago to help a man who spoke neither English nor French access our food bank.

Canada was talking about passing a law like this for a while, and it worries me because of just how easy it is to use this kind of legislation to scrub all references to LGBTQ+ people off the internet (not to mention increasing surveillance in concerning ways).

‼️NEW: Meta is now blocking searches on Threads for terms such as “Trans”, “LBGT”, and “Transgender”. However, the term “Transgenderism” does show results. This comes days after the platform announced their intentions to stop moderating anti-LGBTQ+ posts.

Meta is now completely censoring searches for the terms "trans" and "transgender" etc. on Threads. So much for free speech and free expression.

This is a good reminder that when you’re transitioning, you just need to give yourself time. You will probably go through an ugly duckling phase, but you will come out on the other side. On the left is 2 years ago (just over 2 years on testosterone). On the right is me now.

People told me I was crazy for years for worrying about the very things that are happening now with both trans healthcare in the States and immigration in Canada. Here I am watching my worst fears unfold right before my eyes.

Top of the agenda is to go after providers of gender affirming care, including for adults. The FTC could also go after online platforms for displaying LGBTQ content which would be supercharged under KOSA. This is catastrophically bad.

Americans need to stop talking about this as a "distraction" and recognise that this is an institutional capture and effort towards purging a minority in development. They may not get as far as executing it if we are lucky, but this is work towards elimination of trans people in the USA.

The FTC of all organizations has a key part of their platform to target trans people.

It’s notable that in the Supreme Court hearing this week, justices and attorneys kept going back to the fact that if equal protection is denied, trans adults could be targeted just as much as trans youth.
