The loss of life in Gaza hurts me to a greater degree than the attack on 9/11 and it’s ongoing. Everyday. With no end in sight. The grief is compounded by the fact that so many people in the U.S. simply do not care. (And a lot of those claim to be Jesus followers.)

When you tell me that Charlie Kirk was “a good Christian man” I make a mental note that you consider right-wing fascism to be in line with Jesus’s teachings and excuse myself from ever caring whether you think I am “a good Christian woman.”

Charlie Kirk made the world less safe for members of multiple marginalized communities. I mourn that he—or anyone else—died before having a change of heart that would cause him to live so that he brought hope and relief to the marginalized people of the world rather than more burden.
