✈️ Solidarity to Unite Scandinavian Airlines members - Day 1; Strike!🪧 Scandinavian Airlines publicly praise their cabin crew yet in private it is cynically trying to short change them. It's disgusting that cabin crew are not eating correctly or sleeping properly because of poverty wages.

🪧STRIKE Stagecoach can absolutely afford to offer a pay deal that does not reduce overtime rates. The workforce has Unite's full support in taking strike action to achieve that.

This bin strike is a direct result of the council’s mismanagement of its finances. @bhamcitycouncil.bsky.social’s leadership, government commissioners and the council’s legal team must be held to account for this mess. Workers and residents deserve better!

It is a disgrace that the Met has dangled the carrot of a pay rise but is also offering the stick of attacks on workers' terms and conditions. Unite won’t allow our members' conditions to worsen and the workers have the union’s full support throughout this dispute.

Birmingham council will only resolve this dispute when it stops the appalling treatment of its workforce. Instead of wasting millions more of council taxpayers’ money fighting a dispute it could settle justly for a fraction of the cost, the council needs to return to talks with Unite.

Christmas strikes by workers at housing charity Shelter have been averted after Unite members at the organisation voted to accept an offer from the charity. 💬 This result shows once again that Unite is delivering for workers up and down the country.

No workers should have to tolerate discrimination or abuse. Migrant workers are doctors and nurses, cleaners, bus drivers, food workers, farm labourers and almost every other job you can think of. These workers, like all workers, must be treated with dignity and respect.

Instead of trying to break a strike, @bhamcitycouncil.bsky.social should stop disgracing itself and get back to talks to find a fair resolution for the bin workers. That is the only way strikes will end.

Defence Investment Plan: Stop delays, deliver UK jobs! The UK’s increased defence budget must be used to boost jobs, growth and sovereign capability here in the UK. The prime minister has promised that increased defence spending will do that. He now needs to deliver on that promise without delay.

Unite’s members at Village Hotels in Leeds are fighting for decency, fairness & equality in the workplace. Village Hotels is refusing to pay its workers the real living wage. This is an incredibly wealthy business refusing to pay low paid workers what they deserve. It is shameful & unacceptable. 1/2

Diageo will now see empty shelves as our members take to the picket line and shut down their factories. They need to recognise the determination of this workforce to win fair pay and make a fair pay offer. It can afford to level up its workers pay but has chosen to put profits before people.

The chaos of the current energy system has resulted in the highest #energy bills in Europe. We need to look at countries like France and begin to plan to own our own energy. Only then, can the ever-bulging profits currently going to shareholders, be used to keep bills down.
