I would genuinely like to see Crawley captain the ODI team. As long as it opens up a spot for a new opening in the test team!

The only similarity between T20 and ODI is that they both use a white ball. I don’t think Phil Salt has got this memo.

Here’s an idea: get rid of Pope & Crawley from the test set up and make them captain/vice-captain of the ODIs, with a separate T20 captain. Never gonna happen, but would be an excuse to get them out of the test set up haha

I think the t20 game has messed cricket up. Technique is out of the window for power and the game is just worse off for it. And, dare I say, I think McCullum is creating a culture of very poor cricket which is a scary prospect for the future.

I do hope that England are batting Smith at 3 in the Champion’s Trophy in preparation for him to bat at 3 in the test team! He’s much more suited to bat at 3 than Pope is and it means that Ollie Robinson (DUR) can take the gloves!
