Visited my old stomping ground Didsbury Village yesterday in South Manchester. Visited the very garish new Irish pub Kennedy's. For the time I lived here this building was empty, so it's good to see it finally being used again. #bskybeer

Third Saturday in four weeks there has been a signalling issue on the Manchester to Leeds line. Heben Bridge to Manchester is a 30 minutes train ride, but in the UK this is never simple.

Walking a different side of Hebden Bridge, away from the cafes and bars, reveals a glimpse into its industrial past. These photos show some of the abandoned mills and buildings that are a reminder of the town's history.

If you ever get the northern train from Manchester to Leeds you may have noticed Bridgeholme cricket ground between Todmorden and Hebden Bridge. I finally walked there yesterday, bit disappointed that the clubhouse didn't sell beer, but it was a very picturesque setting to watch cricket.
