I have some film that should be arriving at the lab today, but it's times like these where I want to just get a home development kit and save so much time doing it all myself. "But Max, what about scanning?" Ah hell.

Got my film rolls back from shots I've been taking over the last couple of months. First three are Ilford HP5 400, the fourth is 400TX. I like the grain, it feels super crunchy, like its a photo you can find in a horror game. New-to-me SR-T 101, definitely had a learning curve.

Took the new tripod out to test, most of the shots are just testing to get the right level on uneven ground, but this one came out a lot better than I expected. It's nice out but not quite spring yet.

Went to a local state park with a new (to me) M43 OM-D, there were people there but with no wind and the lake frozen over it was eerily quiet. Could hear people 50 yards out having a normal conversation. Ended up leaving after about 30 min and a short walk cause some rain was coming in.

The gerrymandered GOP stranglehold over Ohio continues to push the state to the bottom, finding depths that were once unheard of.

This week feels like it has an extra day tacked onto it. Not a fan of that.

The game awards were wild. It was "Btw here's a new game we're adding to fill time" and it's absolute peak. Then it was like "here's this massive studio project with the greatest of the greats working on it" and it's another DOA hero shooter.

I wasn't planning on it this year. I'm still not planning on it, but maybe a little less so.

I applied to this once and wasn't accepted, but then got into the current job I have now a day later. I think if I apply again and don't get it, I could end up with a promotion. Either way, I can't lose.

NO LIGHT LEAKS. I can pretty comfortably say that the 50 year old camera that I got for a steal works as good as it did the day it was made.

Ordered a Minolta SR-T 101, so fingers crossed I won't need to put too much maintenance into a new-to-me 50 year old 35mm camera.

Absolute sweeps all over the country, and this morning I wake up and find our city has elected its mayor to a third term so he can continue his mission to prepare our region for the Climate Wars. I kind of wish that were an exaggeration but honestly I'm kinda into it.

Being in a crossover nexus between politics and Twitch streaming while trying to maintain a positive outlook used to have me feeling despair but I've seen multiple streamers breaking the barrier and opening up about the current state of affairs in the US and it's refreshing.

Just an advisory for people going to #TwitchCon San Diego this year, the Saturday of TwitchCon, Oct 18th, there will be protests part of a national day of protests about a mile north of the convention starting in the morning. The last major protest rally in June drew about 60k people.

Finally deleted twitter. Kept it around for the sake of holding onto my name and account, but it's nothing more than a violent cesspool of hate, bot accounts, and some of the worst takes possible. There is no justification for maintaining an account there.

Speculative Fiction Exam, Fall 2025: What the fuck?

My 9 to 5 has been wild, and morphed into a 4 to "Whenever the Sunrise Happens" recently but that hell is finally over. Acquired a Fuji mirrorless for funsies, and stocking up on film in preparation for TwitchCon next month. Gonna try to get out to some local state parks here soon too.

What I'm learning from this thread and article is that people are taking a single quote and appearance by a public figure, reading a single point of view, and making up a story to attach to a public figure they already had no intention of supporting just so they could publicly justify why.

A couple shots from a recent trip in the pacific northwest. Got several nice portraits of friends too but those are personal photos. Shot with portra 400 and tmax 400 b&w on the minolta. Definitely motivated for the next big film outing in Oct for TwitchCon San Diego
