UI work is pain but a tournamant mode is basically functional! Lots of refactoring but now I can easily swap in other lobby formats like round robin or king of the hill. Can also swap in other game modes (besides deathmatch) whenever I create more.

game jam idea: replace traditional rankings with a pass/fail vote. Each jam can define more stringent/lax passing criteria. Competition can be discouraging imo, and this way everyone gets a shot at that sweet sweet dopamine hit of community approval

playtesting against an actual human opponent really opens ur eyes to how no one else knows the secret combo strings

Leaning towards adding health bars in addition to the ring-outs. I think more intricate stages in the future could be cool, and 'ring-outs only' might be restrictive.. And off-stage/edge-guarding doesn't translate well to 3D anyway. Thoughts? #indiedev #fightinggame

Cooking up this swarm/infestation spell that eats up body parts and gets stronger each time it multiplies. It's straight up busted and evil under the right conditions.

wip, trying to practice more optimized topology. Also grabbed auto-rig pro a while ago and haven't tried it yet, so I'll probably give it a shot on this model at some point

Was using Unity's character controller for player collisions, but to allow teleporting players to phase through others I'll need to write a custom solution...

Working on a teleportation type move! Suprisingly have to refactor a bunch to be able to make the model disappear in a way that plays nice with the netcode... but at least the changes will work for all 'sustained' model effects going forward
