Humble brag really but I first read The Hunger Games as a proof copy in 2008. Need to reread it because my kids are obsessed with it and I’ve forgotten so much that I can’t join in their book chat! So I decided to treat myself to the deluxe version of the entire series. Because we’re worth it!

Took me a while to finish this as I had to mix it up with some slightly more accessible teenage fiction. Reading frighteningly relevant and believable dystopian sci fi (which heavily features a right wing war mongering crazed US leader) may not be easy but is definitely worth it!

Read most of Sing If You Can’t Dance in 1 sitting today. I really enjoyed it! Recommended by @empathylabuk.bsky.social, Ven’s joyfully acidic wit & ‘suck it up buttercup’ attitude is just terrific - how she navigates a condition that leaves her in chronic pain is just so well done. On to this now.
