I drew these out as comic layout practice. No specific dialogue, instead focusing on character blocking and word bubble layout. I love the interplay of words and images in comics. Ever since I started lettering for other comics, I've become hyper aware of word bubble flow. It's so important.

Some anatomical and gestural studies I've been working on to bring my skills back up to snuff. Morpho is my anatomy bible. I really should be doing these more often. Daily. Weekly, at least. My art always feels much more confident and GOOD after I do these.

I bashed together the emblems of Council and Promise to encompass the whole history of the generation Mumei was a part of. I might make a scalable vector version of this in the future if other people are interested.

Branch a reference to Mumei's berry arc when playing Minecraft. Roughly drew over their icon from Minecraft, then extended it to fill the panel.

Idea to make the composition a triptych came after a visit to the MoMA in NYC. While I didn't see any triptych pieces while there, seeing the art got me in the right headspace to pull on some of my classical art knowledge. I already knew I wanted a three part piece- a triptych was perfect for that.

You can pull off her head, pull her ahoge off, and throw her head like a grenade and it'll explode. Her head will come back shortly afterwards. I've been wanting to name a character Nanashi for a while. Her design emerged from wanting to have an ahoge and a flesh fang at the same time.

Exudes immense power only some people can see. Someone looks at her, starts screaming in terror. Everyone else turns around and watches her eat a peanut butter and Nutella sandwich.

Have Nyanashi, my latest strange little creature. I am considering her to be like- my Arale. she'll stop halfway across the street and a truck will come screaming around the corner, hit her, then get cleaved in half in the process. Then she'll just sit down and watch a beetle passing by.

Here is the full graffiti spread from the background. I don't have any experience with the scene whatsoever so I was initially afraid to give this a shot, hearing a half baked attempt would undercut the illustration. But I downloaded some fonts and got some references, and am glad I went for it.

Inspiration hit last night so I put this drawing of Tabby together. It started with me trying to emulate Ninomae Ina's sketch work but evolved into this grayscale piece using screentones. Made with 3D assets from the CSP asset shop. So incredibly useful for blocking out a scene. Otakoumori piece.
