New look & new book for an “old” series 😍

Rereading King of the Dark, a book I published five years ago. Niko’s grit in the opening chapters is gorgeous and even though we don’t know it’s Vasili under the hood, there’s already a hint of sexual tension in their aggression. Especially knowing how their relationship develops.

I saw Flow with my two teens and had to fight not to cry my eyes out in the cinema 😹😅 Great little movie. I’m a sucker for animals.

I want to be able to sleep as well as this floofy dumbass 😂

Watching Severance with my 15yo daughter. Neither of us has any idea what’s going on. But it reminds me of LOST. You guys remember when nobody knew what the island was, of the hatch, or the smoke? Severance has that same weird vibe. I just hope it doesn’t end the same. 😂

Finding it hard to turn off all media and focus on writing funny, silly things but I know it’s the funny, silly things that bring little sparkles of light to the darkness.

I keep getting emails asking me to stop selling my books on Amazon. I understand the need to make a stand but frankly, I am one person doing my best to write books people love to read. I’m not a publishing company. If I want to sell books then I have to sell on Amazon. I do not have a choice.

Trump doesn’t want peace in Ukraine. He wants surrender.

This whole panic has happened because: TikTok drama + pirates are upset + ebook licensing ignorance = panic.

Licensing ebooks also means they are cheaper. If you want to buy an ebook outright they’d be much more expensive (see paperback prices).

You cannot legally resell an ebook, you cannot legally share an ebook. Because you buy a license to read it. You do not own it. This has always been the case. But “I own my ebooks and want to keep them!” I’m sorry. You don’t. If you want to own a book, buy the paperback.

This whole “download your books now!” drama began on TikTok where piracy is rampant. Yes pirates (thieves) are worried. Amazon is finally trying to prevent them from stealing. Believe me, that’s a good thing.

I’m sorry but when you buy an ebook you do not own it and never have. You license it, the same way you license a movie or music. It’s in the terms for all stores and has ALWAYS been this way. This fact is being bundled with the USB download change, creating unnecessary panic.

The upcoming Amazon change to ebooks only applies to you if you download files using a USB cable. (Which most people don’t do) NOTHING else is changing. Stop the scaremongering. We have enough to be scared about without adding social media drama to ebooks too.

My next book (SOS Hotel 8) is out Feb 28th, the day of the consumer boycott movement. 85% my income comes from Amazon. I respect and applaud your right to peaceful protest. My book will still be there after the 28th, waiting to offer some lighthearted relief. 😘
