let me explain it like this: > established org status has an attendence requirement > some days are busier than others for comp splatoon > tos will feel incentivized to make tournaments during that busy time > timeslot quickly becomes oversaturated > playerbase for that timeslot is spread thin

the issue is that it will cause an oversaturation in "popular" timeslots for registration numbers, which will spread the playerbase thin, and people who cant make 8pm on a saturday night will just be shit outta luck unless some madlad pays sendou money to host a tournament any other day

mind you, it not going well doesnt mean it'll go away (see also: plus servers, results tab, badges to some extent (unfortunately))

If this goes though I might actually quit comp. Like wdym your pay walling smaller or new orgs and regions with less players??

RIP all OCE tournaments? It’s difficult for us to even reach 50 monthly active players because our region is so small.

I'm using Bluesky solely to respond to this because I think this SO ridiculous. This bar is set way too high and only serves to alienate people from wanting to contribute. What ever the reason for this will not justify the loss of passionate up and coming TOs. OCE was dying, this is how it dies.
