My statement on the ICE arrest of our Hanover Park police officer:

On Indigenous Peoples' Day, we honor and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and enduring traditions of our Indigenous communities.

It has filled me with hope to watch videos and see photos of Palestinian and Israeli families reuniting under the ceasefire and hostage exchange. Today, there is hope, but I recognize that the fight for accountability and justice is long from over. May there be lasting peace.

My statement on the Gaza ceasefire plan:

Today is the anniversary of the horrific October 7th terrorist attack during the celebrations of Simchat Torah and the Nova music festival. Over 1000 people were killed and hundreds were taken hostage.

I am grateful to those who serve in the National Guard, but their forced presence onto our state and into our communities has already been ruled, by a federal judge, to be unlawful. www.wbez.org/immigration/...

As a country, we don't spend enough time discussing generational wealth. Historically, that wealth has been in real estate, but many folks can't afford to be homeowners right now. With the GENIUS Act, the future of crypto and newer ways to build generational wealth have arrived.

Yesterday night, I took the following actions in my Trustee capacity as it relates to ICE activity in the Village of Hanover Park.

The Global Sumud Flotilla traveled for months to deliver food, water, and medicine into Gaza, only for the humanitarians on board to be detained and treated like criminals. I call on the U.S. and Israel to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches Gaza and is safely distributed.

Yesterday, I released a statement following the shutdown of the federal government. It’s time to pass a continuing resolution, and ultimately a budget, that prioritizes the federal government’s commitments to the American people.
