My heart hurts for those impacted by the recent synagogue attack in Detroit. Condeming Anti-semitism is a start, but I'd like to see more substantive action towards combating religious hate from leaders at every level of government.

My opponent Junaid Ahmed has altered a WBEZ photo to draw comparisons against him and I concerning values. The rest of my response on opposing unconditional aid and the Leahy Laws violation wasn't printed. All deeply disappointing but I'll keep running my race with integrity.

On Indigenous Peoples' Day, we honor and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and enduring traditions of our Indigenous communities.

It has filled me with hope to watch videos and see photos of Palestinian and Israeli families reuniting under the ceasefire and hostage exchange. Today, there is hope, but I recognize that the fight for accountability and justice is long from over. May there be lasting peace.

Today is the anniversary of the horrific October 7th terrorist attack during the celebrations of Simchat Torah and the Nova music festival. Over 1000 people were killed and hundreds were taken hostage.

The Global Sumud Flotilla traveled for months to deliver food, water, and medicine into Gaza, only for the humanitarians on board to be detained and treated like criminals. I call on the U.S. and Israel to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches Gaza and is safely distributed.

Yesterday, I released a statement following the shutdown of the federal government. It’s time to pass a continuing resolution, and ultimately a budget, that prioritizes the federal government’s commitments to the American people.
