Celebrating P-22 Day with a special announcement!  This year marked the 10th annual P-22 Day Festival, and in loving memory of our beloved mountain lion, we took the opportunity to announce our artist selection for the permanent P-22 memorial sculpture!

If there’s one thing everyone in LA can agree on, it’s that the rent is too high.  While we've updated some policies, the City of Los Angeles has not updated the actual formula that caps rent increases since the Rent Stabilization Ordinance was created over 40 years ago.

Today we celebrate another historic @dodgers win! My son, Karna, and I joined in the festivities at Dodger Stadium. As a baseball player himself — a proud Sherman Oaks Little Leaguer! — he was so excited to see some of his idols (and now back-to-back World Series winners)!

Beginning Saturday, 42 million Americans — and 5.5 million Californians — are expected to lose federal food assistance benefits through SNAP, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, as the federal shutdown continues into its second month.

Emergency readiness is an ongoing effort, and my office is working hand in hand with our first responders to ensure Los Angeles—and Council District 4—is prepared for fire and storm events.

Today, we recognize Indigenous Peoples' Day. This day serves as a reminder of the rich history and enduring presence of the Indigenous communities who have shaped the land long before our city was established.

LA must be a city where, whenever you call for help, someone shows up, and it’s the right person to respond to your issue.

In June, I introduced a motion to ensure that people held in LAPD custody continue to receive quality medical care. On Tuesday, the City Council took the final step to prevent the proposed closure of two of the City’s three medical clinics located at LAPD detention facilities.

While we’ve taken considerable action to protect tenants, passing some of the strongest tenant protections since the Rent Stabilization Ordinance went into effect nearly 40 years ago, it’s fair to say that Los Angeles has changed dramatically in that time. What hasn’t?

The community came together at the Autry Museum for a day of fun, cultural education, and a good old fashioned line dancing demonstration!

Over 150 new bus shelters have been installed across the city thanks to the STAP Program, including the newest shelter installed just today outside City Hall!

Last week, our office hosted a community hike in Coldwater Canyon with our partners at TreePeople. Did you know that Griffith Park is home to a massive collection of Native American artifacts at the Autry Museum— including rarities such as the logbook from the 1969 Native American takeover of Alcatraz Island in San Francisco Bay, and more than 10,000 Native ceramics?

On Saturday, my team and I were informed by LAPD of multiple incidents of anti-semitic vandalism at Encino Park, in various locations along Ventura Blvd between Balboa Ave and Genesta Ave, as well as other parts of the western San Fernando Valley.
