The Miguel Momentum is rolling into May with $4,350 from DC donors between 4/10-5/10, his highest total since the first reporting period Rashida: $2,350 Aparna: $1,335 (she's maxed out matching funds) Terry: $175 Jackie still hasn't filed her report

this is a tough one! printed info is valuable, but only if it's up-to-date and with thousands of stops, that's a lot of labor any time there's a service change. I personally think going all-in on QR codes with printed info only at key transfer points and high-ridership stops is a good compromise

JLG had over 1k more donations from DC residents over the last month than McDuffie did, 1,919 to 836! Only raised $10k more than McDuffie though which speaks to the type of donor each candidate is attracting

Capital Bikeshare saw 605k rides in April, down from 664k a year ago. That's a great sign! We had been seeing ~20% YoY drops in ridership, but April was only down 9%. Coupled with all-time highs for dockless micromobility, more people are biking than ever and CaBi is on better financial footing!

CaBi ridership has been down since the August price increase but DC is biking (and scooting) more than ever! Combining CaBi data with Ride Report's dockless micromobility data shows that we're still recording monthly all-time highs, but the share of those rides on CaBi is decreasing

I wanted to see who has the most Ward 1 support so I filtered contributions since the start of the race to merge multiple donations by the same person and then geocoded the results (caveats below): Miguel is in a distant 4th for total donors but has by far the highest % of Ward 1 donors!

I would only half-jokingly describe myself as a single-issue "bring back the streateries" voter because it's the perfect intersection of creating urban vibrancy, de-prioritizing cars, and generating local revenue

Wow thank you ggwash for doing this! This feels like an undercount of Jackie's support but otherwise probably matches the vibes of the race at the moment. My wild guess is that Aparna would win if the vote was today and Rashida's the most likely to win in June, but still MANY undecided voters!

The Council just passed legislation to allow single-stair and single-entrance apartment buildings up to six stories in DC. Allowing single-stair buildings: ✅ Reduces housing construction costs ✅ Enables housing on narrow city lots ✅ Facilitates more family-sized units The bill passed unanimously.

There was an overwhelming majority of YIMBYs at the DC2050 workshop today, like 10:1 in favor of more housing…I’m so hesitant to be optimistic but the fact that both JLG and McDuffie have come out in support of more upzoning gives me hope that there will be major revisions

There were around 500 non-CaBi daily micromobility trips on this part of 15th st in Q2 last year - that's probably around 1,500 total trips taking into account CaBi and personal vehicles with significantly higher totals than that during cherry blossom season

👎🏼 The District's planning agency is only considering this tiny handful of parcels in Ward 1 for increased density in the next Comprehensive Plan. This draft map is, in a word, unambitious. The density of Ward 1 is one of its greatest assets and we deserve more of it.

I generally support an ambitious complete streets plan but I would rather focus political capital on reducing street parking from both sides of the street to just one like Scenario 2 does, even if that means PBLs won't fit into every project
