How easy is it to stretch suede shoes? Been searching for comfortable penny loafers for months. Most in my size are too narrow/small. Going up 1/2 size makes them too long. Finally found a pair that fits but is just a bit too tight. 1/2 size up fits but hurts my heels because they slip a bit.

Highly recommend this (you can also listen to this as a podcast.) The history geek in me loves hearing historians share their work. Side benefit: learning about the messiness of history can be weirdly comforting with *everything* that is going on.

Some of these google street view photos of post offices aren’t great - poorly framed, blocked by cars. Some don’t even include a building. But every once in awhile you get a truly wonderful shot.

I never jumped over to TikTok because it felt random & disconnected fr actual people (though lots of folks obv enjoy it!) I also prefer to listen to podcasts/read articles vs watch videos. The morphing of social media to taking over our lives is fascinating (if you ignore how terrible it is).

3 years ago today, I made the leap, downsizing from my previous home of 23 years to a cute 900sqft house in Del Ray. And I’m still pinching myself. I couldn’t have known the changes in store or how quickly I would feel connected to this new community of mine. So happy to be here. ♥️

Mild fever kicked in, a bit cough-y & achy. But not complaining as I’ve had worse vax reactions. Gives me an excuse to catch up on programs I’ve wanted to watch.

Got my 2nd shingles vax yesterday afternoon. Slept well last night, waiting to see what the day holds (fully expecting to be clobbered but definitely better than getting shingles.) Wish me luck!

Challenge: Post your last photo of DC to show what a hell-hole it is. From Thursday after lunch with a friend at Kramers on Dupont Circle. Even braved the Metro all on my own to get there. Arrived & returned safely, thank goodness.
