Going back to my roots a bit this week, tight ~20 minute video on 5 indie games I think you should check out. Hope to always be able to do this kind of content periodically no matter what kind of other stuff I'm working on!

In the last 24 hours I rolled credits on 3 very different GOTY contenders: -DOOM The Dark Ages -Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 -Blue Prince All pretty phenomenal experiences, I think KCD2 still takes it for me but MAN gaming is good in 2025.

I'm like 120 hours into my playthrough of KCD2, finally wrapping up the story. Thought I had seen all it had to offer and was ready to wrap up, then the game hit me out of nowhere with an OPTIONAL encounter I now think is very close to the pinnacle of storytelling in the medium.

Just wanted to remind people I got a video on the modern DOOM games out, it had a great first day but views slowed down a lot (prob because of Dark Ages review embargo going up). But if you're waiting for the wide release today and need to kill 2 hours, I gotchu!

Gonna just post my daily thoughts/notes on Dark Ages as I play for those interested! Had a lot of fun in my first session. Whelmed by the mech and dragon segments, but everything else is top notch so far.

Interesting phenomenon where as soon as you criticize a game at all, people with 500+ hours will come out of the woodwork to tell you you're wrong. I actually do appreciate being corrected on things I get wrong, but at a point your experience of a game does become TOO niche IMO

I am replaying DOOM Eternal at the moment and having a blast overall but I have a confession to make... The Marauder is a bad enemy, it makes the game less fun to play every time it appears. "Skill issue" "Just one-cycle combo it dood" This is my truth and I'm sticking with it.

Can I just say, it's consistently annoying that in 2025 opinions on new games are still more than ever muddied by peoples' console preferences. Dawg, I'm a PC player I just wanna know if the game is good. I have no stake in which $500 plastic box is best.

Finally got around to Psycho Patrol R today, might be the fastest I've ever 180ed on a game. Spent first 90 minutes lost, confused, angry... Turns out I was going the wrong way. It's actually peak. Possibly one of the roughest intros I've ever had to a game though LOL

Replaying DOOM 2016 at the moment, and I think a lot of people honestly are due to do the same. A lot of what's great about this game was overshadowed in my mind by Eternal, but frankly 2016 got a lot right for a 'first draft' and even does some stuff better.

Very poetic that the word 'slop' (easily reproducible, formulaic, low quality) has itself become slop. I'm seeing 'slop' tacked onto literally anything people don't like. Call that slopslop.

0-E may genuinely be my new favorite Ultrakill level. Just really hits that sweet spot of challenge and fun for me, and it really makes the Prelude feel like one big interconnected beast behind the curtain. Not to mention, a cool gimmick + extra incentive to play fast!

Ignoring online discourse and just throwing out there that Kingdom Come Deliverance II is the most excited I've been for a big release in a while. I like my open world games with some edge and jank on them, and the first game satisfied that craving immensely.

Building a new PC, current GPU is from 2020 and has struggled to keep up with newer games especially when I'm streaming. Figured why not spring for the new 50-series. Local MicroCenter effectively sold out at 4:30AM, refreshed other websites for 2 hours. No dice. GGs I guess 🤷‍♂️

I think I enjoy hearing about and talking about the creative process almost as much as I enjoy the actual fruits of the creative process. I don't think all art needs to be explained or contextualized to be impactful, but I do find that I really love hearing about how others create their art.
