In DC, politicians talk. I solve problems. I’m running to bring that Iowa work ethic to Washington.
Our political system is broken. Politicians from both parties spend too much time sipping cocktails at receptions with lobbyists in Des Moines and DC instead of fighting for working people. It's not acceptable and it needs to change.

America lost six heroic service members this weekend, including Sergeant Declan Coady of the U.S. Army Reserve. I’m deeply moved by his example of service, and I’m praying for his family who are facing unimaginable grief and pain. May we do all we can to make the world a more peaceful place.

With all the news about tariffs, I talked to my friend Al who runs a flower shop about what tariffs have meant for him and his customers. We need to tell the truth about the impact that chaotic, across-the-board tariffs are having on Iowans.

My church held a training to teach people how to observe ICE safely and respond in a legal way. Now some are calling for its nonprofit status to be stripped. This is ridiculous - our democracy thrives when people are able to hold our government accountable and exercise their free speech.

We need to stop the corrupting influence of money in our elections and the shameless self-enrichment by career politicians. That's why I refuse to take corporate PAC funding, and why I've joined End Citizens United's campaign to ban Congressional stock trading & crack down on dark money in politics.

Senator Grassley is right about this. Across-the-board tariffs are pushing our ag economy closer to the brink. I lived in rural Iowa through the 1980s farm crisis and saw banks close and families lose their farms. We can’t afford to go through that again.
