In DC, politicians talk. I solve problems. I’m running to bring that Iowa work ethic to Washington.
pinned post!
Our political system is broken. Politicians from both parties spend too much time sipping cocktails at receptions with lobbyists in Des Moines and DC instead of fighting for working people. It's not acceptable and it needs to change.

If you're happy with the status quo, you probably shouldn't vote for me. I've never been afraid to challenge conventional wisdom and I don't back down until we've fixed what is broken.

Today we honor the brave men and women who have died in uniform serving our country. I was grateful to participate in a moving program this morning at the Waterloo Veterans Memorial Hall to remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

I refuse to accept that we have enough money to pay for massive tax cuts to billionaires but can't afford quality healthcare for every Iowan, or that we can pay for the war in Iran but can't afford to expand access to childcare for working families. We need leaders who make better choices.

Our rural healthcare system is on the brink. We need to restore support for rural hospitals and do more to attract doctors and nurses to work in rural Iowa.

Iowans are sick of typical politicians in both parties who do everything they can to protect the status quo. We need fresh voices who can actually get things done.

Our first TV ad is on the air today! My message is simple: When things are broken, we fix them. That's what I've done my whole life and it's what I'll do as your representative in Congress.

Iowa Falls is a beautiful and historic river town! I enjoyed spending some time with the Hardin County Democrats to talk about education, the farm economy and other issues over dinner at The River Tap.

The Octopus in Cedar Falls is a great community asset, providing a space for community gathering focused on the arts. I loved having a chance to speak there last week. I also had a strategy session with our UNI campaign fellows about our plan to get out the vote.

The world would be a better place if our leaders spent time with the extraordinary women at Mount Carmel and the Sisters of the Presentation in Dubuque. Their commitment to justice and the common good is deeply inspiring. Thanks to Sister Corrine for showing me around!

America lost six heroic service members this weekend, including Sergeant Declan Coady of the U.S. Army Reserve. I’m deeply moved by his example of service, and I’m praying for his family who are facing unimaginable grief and pain. May we do all we can to make the world a more peaceful place.

With all the news about tariffs, I talked to my friend Al who runs a flower shop about what tariffs have meant for him and his customers. We need to tell the truth about the impact that chaotic, across-the-board tariffs are having on Iowans.

My faith has always guided how I’ve served my community. This campaign is rooted in the same call I’ve followed my whole life to care for my neighbor, stand up for what is right and fight to give everyone the opportunity to reach their God-given potential.

My church held a training to teach people how to observe ICE safely and respond in a legal way. Now some are calling for its nonprofit status to be stripped. This is ridiculous - our democracy thrives when people are able to hold our government accountable and exercise their free speech.

We need to stop the corrupting influence of money in our elections and the shameless self-enrichment by career politicians. That's why I refuse to take corporate PAC funding, and why I've joined End Citizens United's campaign to ban Congressional stock trading & crack down on dark money in politics.
