What a wild day full of rare stuff! My first Ptychodus anonymous tooth in 27 years, a Bonnerichthys hypural, and a possible chunk of dinosaur jaw that got puked up by a long dead shark. Also 3 stupid Xiphactinus.

It brings me comfort to imagine some farm kid bouncing around in the ball turret of a WW2 bomber was blasting away with his 50 cals at this stupid Xiphactinus i just found. There spent rounds continue to eroded out of the chalk 80+ years later.

Whatever pooped this turd out 86 million years ago managed to squirt out an articulated string of fish vertebrae from its colon. Uncomfortable I would imagine

95 degrees for the high out here today and it is way too freaking early for this. First finds of this field season are some Ptychodus crusher shark teeth, with a Squalicorax thrown in for good measure
