This Edmontosaurus toe was stealthy. Nearly the exact same color as the outcrop. Made it out for a hot second in between rainstorms, I hate being cooped up indoors.

Heh. At the display in the Wyoming visitors center, they have archeologists digging a mammoth as a scene. They are dry screening for cartilage costal ribs! Innovative.

The stupid Xiphactinus i found 2 Thursdays ago was dug up last Friday and is already back in the lab. Heres the first bits emerging, 9 articulated vertebrae with spines and ribs (upside down)

Happy #FossilFriday from the only complete skull of the giant Kansas coelacanth Megalocoelacanthus! I dug on this skull back in 2005-6 and found the only other specimen from the Niobrara (an isolated lower jaw) a few years later. Coming in around 3m long, this is a BIG lobe-finned fish
