Converted the note editor view and new note forms to use the Popover API, along with the search box. Popover is taking over the app–keeping additional action UI right next to the button that triggers the action, and not taking over the whole view.

Active search dropdown (powered by htmx) using Popover API and CSS anchor positioning. Almost no custom JavaScript needed for this

For people still making and using SPAs that load the static page skeleton and then async fetch and render the content with API calls, I wish you could see how incredible the UX is with everything server rendered in one shot and swapped in with a simple CSS transition animation. NPM supports switching from Authenticator App (TOTP) based 2FA to more phishing resistant WebAuthn based 2FA. Adding a WebAuthn security key and disabling the Authenticator App is a pretty quick process. For example Apple Touch ID & Windows Hello work! Physical keys work too, but aren't required.
