“It hasn't even been 20 years since I was freed.” She rolls her eyes. “So childish. You know very few planets even have anything on them? Most where turned into kindergartens.”

“What would you do? I'm stuck on a barely civilized rock, with nothing to do. I couldn't do anything for 6000 years. All I want to do now is relax and think. Plus I have to make sure Jasper doesn't do anything.” She really was the single gem able to effectively pacify the quarts. Probably -

“A getaway. There is only so much nerd I can handle.” She shrugs. “Good. Saves me from drowning someone”

“Lapis Lazuli. Former teraformer. Only because I refuse to let anyone boss me around now”

“Yup. Just wanted to see if I could still do it. I can. Woo” She's so cheerful… not really she sounds perpetually annoyed.

“I was a mirror. Forced to replay events and images upon request. Sanity! Like that's a thing any war criminal has!” She waved her hand, causing a large chunk of ocean to form a wall. “I dont have sanity. I'm a gem. I dont sleep I dont eat, I dont even breathe. I was forced to be aware -

“You didn't count? Well, I was deemed a terrorist by the diamond i severed my entire life. When I did get freed I was blind—and stuck on a foreign planet with no way home. When I did find a way home they crashed on the planet again! Which led to a very toxic fusion.”

“I was stuck in a mirror for six thousand years. Alone with nothing! Forgotten and cast aside. An innocent bystander who nearly died in a war I wanted nothing to do with. You can handle a little darkness” The water stops. No waves, no current. Eerie stillness.

“Being scared of the dark is childish. Most of everything is dark. I've been in space before. Guess what? Dark. There is more darkness than light. Eerie silence is the real issue. It cracks even the strongest gems”

“Scared of the dark? Just like Steven” She shrugs. “I’m used to the dark. It’s the silence that gets to you”

“It’s dark and the pressure is intense. Oh, and you have an annoying voice nagging you like it’s their one job. 10/10 would recommend”

“I can do that too” She glows blue showing only her teardrop Lazuli on her back. Then she reformed. 100% the same but now with pants instead of a dress. “My body is made entirely of light”

“Shes a quartz.. You might not produce enough energy to poof her.. Quartz are made to be soldiers. Jasper is especially strong..”

“It isn't always instant. With my luck Jasper followed me here… if you happen to see a bulky gem. Her gem being her nose.. Point her far from me”

“I see… yeah it’s more likely that I'd bring it bad luck. I’m really good at causing issues” She shrugs. “I can hardly take care of Pumpkin without Steven or Peridot.”

“I’d find it funny if I knew what a duck was?” She crosses her arms “What the duck?”

“Someone gets it! Peridot usually rolls her eyes.”

“I’m under a lot of pressure... Get it because I've been to the bottom of the ocean? Man, I'm hilarious. I dont see what Steven doesn't find funny”

She followed. Glancing around. “Gems are simple to keep around. We dont need food, water, or air. Our gems power us”

“She’s a nerd. That's a given for all peridot. But she's..well maybe you’ll meet her someday” She hums “It doesn't matter where I am. I can make do with anything.”

“She’s my own personal gremlin.. And yes a gem.” She nodded. “A girl just needs a place to relax. One that isn't the bottom of an ocean. Or space”

“Looking for a place to hide away is all. My barn is uh.. Well, I used it to crush a diamond.” She looks up at the sky. “Without peridot around I'm free to do whatever I want.”

If we're gonna talk about feelings 、then at least let me get a drink.

“I’m just a runaway gem. A criminal technically. I guess, in a sense, I helped save Earth. So maybe you aren't wrong” She nods.

She stared. She still didn't understand shaking hands. “A pleasure. And just Lapis works. I’m not really female. Or important”

“Lapis lazuli. I’m about 6,000 years old. Though I spent five thousand locked up” She shrugs.
