Tonight was 'The Rules of the Game'/ 'La règle du jeu' (1939) from @criterion.bsky.social Felt way more modern than a lot of older fare with all the camera work. Some really great staging and choreography with the different goings on at the end there.

Last night was 'A Matter of Life and Death' (1946) from criterionchannl www.criterionchannel.com/videos/a-mat... Was not great? They tried some Pleasantville-esque mixing of bw & col, but I just couldn't take the ham and ended up skipping through a bunch.

Finally watched Laurence of Arabia Went back and checked, there are a dozen women in the bg of the funeral in the first couple of minutes and I swear not a single one for the rest of the 12 hour run of that movie
