There is still time to RSVP for CCDP's next Common Read, taking place on Wednesday, October 15 at 7pm at our office in St. Johns. We will be discussing I Never Thought of It That Way: How to Have Fearlessly Curious Conversations in Dangerously Divided Times by Monica Guzman.

Unfortunately, our Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup scheduled for next Sunday has been canceled due to construction that has started on our exact roadway as of today, which will continue until October 31. Therefore, we will not be rescheduling the cleanup, either.

It didn’t rain on our parade too much today (just a little!). Thank you to the dedicated individuals who showed up to our carpool lot cleanup today. We only picked up 7 bags of trash between the two locations in just under an hour, which we consider a successful morning.

Today was our Third Annual Fall Harvest Festival Fundraiser, and it did not disappoint! We had a great group of attendees, a fantastic lineup of speakers, and the perfect fall setting for the event.

We had a successful morning walking in the Ovid Carriage Days Parade, along with the Shiawassee County Democratic Party and State Representative Penelope Tsernoglou.

We had a great turnout in St. Johns for tonight’s CCDP meeting! Read on for a summary of the evening's happenings: -We heard from our guest speaker, William Lawrence for Congress, a Democratic candidate for the 7th Congressional District, who spoke to us about his background and his campaign.

What a great crowd today for the DeWitt Ox Roast Parade! We had an energetic group and handed out over 70 of our yard signs to attendees on the parade route.

Thank you to the volunteers who showed up today to represent CCDP in the St. Johns Mint Festival Parade! We braved the heat, exhausted our stash of candy, and handed out dozens of our new yard signs along the parade route.

We had such a great turnout for our August monthly meeting in DeWitt tonight. Nearly 60 attendees heard from 7th Congressional District Democratic Candidate Bridget Brink, witnessed the debut of our new yard signs, and learned about numerous upcoming CCDP events, some of which include:

Thank you to all who came out to our Carpool Lot Cleanup this morning! Our group of 8 volunteers cleaned up 13 bags of trash at our two lots located just off of US-127. That concludes our July cleanups. We will be announcing our September dates soon!

We are excited to announce our Third Annual Fall Harvest Festival, which will be held on Saturday, September 20! The event will take place at Phillips Orchards & Cider Mill’s Orchard Market from 11am-2pm.

We have been blown away with the response we received from putting out various asks on social media to help make our office space complete. From beautiful padded chairs, to bookshelves, and even a refrigerator, our members have pulled out all the stops and have been so kind with their donations.

We had so much fun with the Eaton County Democratic Party and the Ingham County Democratic Party at Lansing Pride! Our Tri-County effort was a huge success. We talked with attendees from not only our three counties, but from across the state.

Join the Committee to Protect Health Care tomorrow from 1:30-2:30pm in Lansing for a Hands Off Medicaid rally, which will feature Senator Chris Murphy, Michigan leaders, and advocates from across the state. Location will be provided upon RSVP.

The Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP), is putting on a Community Listening Session TONIGHT from 6-7:30pm at the East Olive Community Center, located at 2583 Green Rd, St Johns, MI 48879.

We are coming upon our next Adopt-A-Highway and Carpool Lot Cleanups, which are taking place in July. Please Note: If you plan to take part in the Highway Cleanup, please RSVP to [email protected], as we need to ensure we know how many will attend for logistical purposes.
