Finally had another session with my besties in our Candyland D&D campaign. And it is literally so fun.

The absolute nightmare of going outside right now is how freaking overstimulated and hot I get while getting dressed. Once I’m out the door, the cold air feels like relief.

In spite of all the evil, I take heart in the people far and wide I see standing together. This is the America and the world I fight for: One where we love our neighbors and stand together for what is right. May the evil of this day meet justice.

I think if I can take comfort in one thing, it’s that my closest friends, the ones I’ve chosen from elementary school to the present day are fighting against this regime in the ways they can.

The MMR vaccine is one of the first vaccines I remember getting. It was my second dosage, right before beginning kindergarten. I remember my doctor called it “the Barney shot” because it was purple. Today I got it updated because I was no longer immune to mumps. Stay vaccinated kids.

If my socks don’t coordinate to my outfit, just know I’m having a terrible day and am resigned to it. Seriously. Something is truly wrong with me personally if this is the case. Send help. Preferably in the form of an allergy friendly treat.

Sometimes I tell myself the stories of what my parents did when I was a child so that I can remember to keep healthy boundaries. In healing it can sometimes be hard to remember that I’m the one who has changed. Not them. They are still not safe.

Got compared to my MIL’s mom today 🥺🥺🥺 literally the sweetest compliment in the whole world. I never met her but she was a special woman with a massive heart, full of creativity and kindness towards others. So excuse me while I cry forever.

Talking to my best friend from high school about our D&D campaigns is healing something in me. Apparently we didn’t play in high school because his mom felt it might be too Satanic (which his mom saved my life so no hate to her) but did make me lol because she was otherwise very chill.

Ian logged me into his Facebook and I cried. It’s such a joy to see people I love posting pictures of birthdays and trips. I lost so many connections and Meta won’t let me make a new account. 😭

In our first combat our barbarian tested out “the rule of cool” wherein I allowed her to make an attack roll from the ground to cut a guy’s achilles. She (a cursed small pink fuzzy halfling—think axolotl with fur) then painted her self and stared down a small gnomish family.

Had my first session with my friends as a GM for a candy-themed D&D campaign. I came up with the idea before I knew about Crown of Candy. I’m playing with my besties from college. We had so much fun and seriously cannot wait for our next session.

Tutoring a student in the *one* subject that I truly struggled in during high school. So my confidence is low but it’s never too late to learn high school chemistry. 🧪😅

When I was a kid, I had hoped by the time I was an adult my family have learned to be more kind, but turns out given time they’ve only become more hurtful and harmful. There is something in me they hope to destroy, but I won’t ever give up hope that being kind matters.

Turns out doing the Artist’s Way *has* unlocked my creativity which is why I have been up working on projects until 2 in the morning for the last two nights.

Made an allusion to Abbott and Costello’s “Who’s On First?” and learned my husband had never seen the skit. Remedied that immediately. 🥲
