this hits hard: Karl Ameriks has died, imo the greatest contemporary Kant scholar. Only last month we emailed about the review of Pippin's book that I had sent to him. First time I met him was at a Hegel conference in Oxford in 2000. His Kant & the Fate of Autonomy was just out
