A carved Welsh slate model bureau North Wales circa 1880 Similar pieces of folk art were carved by quarrymen of North Wales and most date from the late 19th century. Many were probably made to decorate their own homes and were given as gifts or entered into competition at local eisteddfodau.

A superb Georgian Welsh oat-cake peel or slice (rhawlech). Made from Ash which has a wonderful colour and surface. Carmarthenshire c1800 Oat cakes were part of the staple diet in many parts of Wales, the peel or slice was used for turning the oat cakes on a bakestone.
