If the BBC reports of Burnham approving new oil and gas drilling in the North Sea are accurate, then he is demonstrating a terrible lack of judgement and adding to an already monstrous climate crisis. It's both scientifically and morally wrong.

I've always been a massive sci-fi & fantasy nerd, ever since I was a little kid. It has always provided me with an escape from the confines of reality, travelling to distant worlds & wondrous realms. I don't think it'll ever leave me either, it's a big part of who I am & I'm comfortable with that.

The UK is suffering from a disturbing crisis in civil liberties and free speech. We're seeing people arrested for protesting genocide or not properly mourning a controversial figure who peddled hate, not to mention mass surveillance, potentially ID cards and AI facial recognition systems.

I have practically zero expectations about Burnham and Labour being less shitty but appointing the Shabana Mahmood, whose legacy is demonisation of migrants to appease fascists, as chancellor would manage to somehow fail the lowest of low bars.

Given what trans people are being put through in the UK, increasing their marginalisation within our society by a nominally left-leaning government, I feel its important to reiterate my support for trans folk and utter contempt I have for this government and the bigots it seeks to appease.

Argentina fully deserved the win. Terrible first half from both sides, England score a decent goal then try to see it out. Argentina created more, wanted it more and deserved it more. Should be a very interesting final against Spain.

The Right: "We want to criminalise and eradicate minorities to create a whites-only ethno state" The Left: "We want everyone to have healthcare, food, housing and other necessities. And we want to tax the ultra-wealthy". Centrists: "You're both as bad as each other."

Farage resigning should not detract nor distract from the fact he took payments from a convicted criminal and a dubious, foreign-based billionaire. And that's the ones we know about. He is the epitome of corruption and grift, two things our society could do with much less of.

Have been enjoying sounds of my teens and early 20's again recently; Green Day, System Of A Down, Jimmy Eat World, Rise Against, Linkin Park etc. and thinking that those were some of the best days of my admittedly melancholic life.

The lack of any consequences for misinformation, disinformation and outright lies, propagated under the guise of freedom of speech, is one of the reasons why society is in such a terrible state. Lies are treated equally to truth and that's inherently insane and dangerous.

The threat to society comes from billionaires espousing racist, violent rhetoric whilst seeking to control society, not the poor refugee fleeing war, poverty & persecution with nothing but the clothes on their backs, or the trans kid wanting to play sports with their friends or to use the bathroom.

Getting rid of physical discs is just wrong. I don't want to have to rely on digital downloads, I want to actually own a copy of the game, not just renting a code. Big businesses are doing everything possible to make up pay for things but never actually own them. It sucks.

I've always loved Star Trek, ever since I was a kid. This vision of a wondrous utopia, free from hate and prejudice, has not only inspired me but also helped to shape my political beliefs and ideals. It has never felt as distant in my lifetime as it does right now.

The attacks on vulnerable minorities like trans folk and migrants are fundamentally disgraceful and should be treated with nothing but contempt and scorn. That they're being supported and endorsed by those in power is abhorrent. Our society is in a very dark, sick place.
