A second horse, Get On George, has died at this year’s Aintree Festival — just a day after Gold Dancer’s death. The total number of horse deaths at Aintree since 2000 now stands at 69. The League and other animal welfare groups are again calling for a boycott and urgent government action.

The first horse, Gold Dancer, has died at this year’s Aintree Festival after a fatal injury - bringing renewed scrutiny to the event. Since 2000, 68 horses have died at Aintree, with 17 horses dying after racing in the Grand National.
