Eating an applesauce cup before I go to the grocery store, as a preventative measure.

I may change my mind, but with Halloween on a Friday, my kids uninterested in trick or treating, and our trick or treater numbers being pretty low, I'm thinking of putting out a bowl of stuff & hunkering down inside to watch a scary movie with the family.

I sometimes feel sorry for my kids because they inherited our attraction to esoterica. Fifth-grader can't find any kids his age who also play Half-Life or watch old Top Gear episodes. Teen can't find other board gamers or bullet hell game aficionados.

Concessions went well. Not terribly busy (volleyball game). But Fifth-grader tagged along to help & enjoyed it so much that he now wants us to work concessions for a Friday night varsity football game. In the South. I don't think he knows what he's asking 😅

The Boosters' guilt-tripping emails finally got to me. Tonight Teen & I are volunteering to run the concession stand during a volleyball game. At least he gets service hours. With my new lo-carb life I can't even sneak a hot pretzel 🙁

A Japanese man & his tiny kid come in on Mondays. They spend most of their time at the coloring table. Dad always leaves a drawing of Anpanman (the table is covered in paper) & the kid has an Anpanman backpack. This week I'm going to put out a coloring sheet of Anpanman & hope they come 😄

Fifth-grader: My teacher has a 'Meme of the Week' on her Smartboard but she hasn't changed it in a couple weeks. Can you email her this meme I made?

At Aldi these people filled an entire cart with nothing but bags of potatoes. When I went out, they were loading them into a van with a wedding planner logo. I want to be invited to that wedding.
