It's been interesting trying to workshop tools I can use with consistency. I tried poppin open physicsserver3d to see if I could optimize a bit of the bullet overhead, and it does feel feasible even if the workflow's pretty different. May keep different base bullet types for different needs.

You ever look through a codebase and get struck by "oh my god that's such a better way of handling things" Yeah so func_godot's internals are *gorgeous* actually. Learning a lot about what gdscript can do just by reading func's documentation

y'know it'd be really neat if ultrabox had some means of exporting every track individually at once, but I'm in too deep with this battle track to not try and give it my best shot at processing

Earlier on in development I was a bit reticent about tackling a project of this size as a first game, but as it goes on I realize part of the reason I'm making so much more progress on this than my earlier work is because it excites me. That and like, spriting feels way easier than rigging :3

Aaaand with that, I'm officially using Ardour in my music workflow again. Their latest update absolutely freaking rules. Ultrabox as a base and Ardour to refine is really nice. Still unsure how I'm going to handle music publishing when I get there. Rather not get false claimed. Open to suggestions

WOO, okay, fixed that texture to mesh issue that was really bothering me, thankfully the func_godot team detailed the issue nicely on their github which made debugging way easier. I just set Vertex Merge Distance Property to 0.015625, half of the default, and it seems fine now ^^

First time making a battle system, and with the gui mostly figured out I'm trying to think of a system which is going to make designing *every* enemy easier. I was originally going to use resources, but it gets unweildy for complex logic. Think I may just make a single base class they inherit from

One thing I'm finding a lot with development is that I can set a day to work on a given thing, but *only* doing that thing leads to staring at my code and having no idea what to work on or how. Meanwhile if I study something unrelated and *then* go at my code, I can work again! (hi i have adhd)

Something incredibly bizzare is that I'm actually able to study again. I used to get gradually building migranes the longer I tried to learn something complex, but with a *lot* of other health improvements, if im getting sunlight suddenly I'm able to read glsl study materials and not have a migrane!

Need to make a point of remembering that being able to output the most consistent dev work I've ever been able to output is happening while I go out of my way to take care of myself. Sunlight, hydration, and taking painkillers when I *start* to get a headache is working weirdly well, who knew!

I cannot overstate how nice it feels to be able to work three days in a row. Usually health stuff of *some* kind gets in the way, but apparently recently I've been able to just *go*. Need to keep in mind what got me here so as not to health crash, but work output this consistent has me giddy :3

TrenchBroom successfully setup in relation to Godot >:3 Only thing I couldn't figure out was clipping textures not makin see-through collidable walls, but at this point that's kinda trivial to fix manually in-engine anyway Thank you func_godot~!

Went through a few different mapping softwares today and I think the one which clicked best was trenchbroom, feels really intuitive. Hoping I'll be able to figure out getting it to work nice with godot at some point ^^

Finally getting into somewhat of a groove with managing my various disabilities, caffiene pills especially have been quite helpful now that I've settled into having one pill every third day, and my immune disorder's bleeding has gotten way better with the new medicine I'm on, feelin hopeful ^^
