Had the opportunity to tour Southeast Community College's brand new welding technology center last week. I wish I had something like this. The facility is AMAZING. With 196 booths, it's now the country's largest welding technology center, providing students with a world-class trade school education.

Not too long ago in Nebraska, grocery stores were local and family-owned. Now just four companies - Walmart, Kroger, Albertsons, and Amazon - control most of our food retail. Let's bring back the Nebraska where local mattered.

On Labor Day, I walked with my union in Omaha then made it out to the Schuyler Days Parade. Perfect way to end the day surrounded by the hardworking men and women who keep this country running. Our mini footballs were a hit! Thanks to everyone who walked with us.

So far we’ve brought our town hall tour to Weeping Water, La Vista, Fremont, Columbus, Norfolk, and Hastings – all with huge crowds. Nebraska is ready for a government by and for the people.

Oh, and one more thing…

I support Right to Repair laws. When something breaks, you should be able to fix it.

I went to listen to Pete’s federal forum yesterday at the Nebraska State Fair. He touted $50 billion for rural hospitals, but failed to mention rural hospitals are projected to lose about $150 billion. He’s giving us $30 but taking away $100. Total B.S.

The loss of family farms and local businesses means that the wealth produced in a community no longer stays there.
