I feel like people don't talk about the incidental intimacy of relationships enough. We tend to focus in on the exceptional points and just sort of skate over the more mundane aspects of loving someone day-to-day.

Currently I'm rocking with the idea that merfolk were manifested by the collective belief generated by all the stories humans told about them. They weren't, and then by sheer popular will, they were.

I'm usually pretty live and let live when it comes to merfolk takes, but one idea that's always baffled me is that merpeople don't/shouldn't eat fish because it's basically cannibalism. It makes no sense. That's like saying it's cannibalistic for us to eat cows and pigs.
