In #TTRPG design, I think using bell curves on random tables should be done carefully. You might instinctively want to model some reality (this world has more X than Y). But if Y is fun and X is less fun... why force that kind of realism on folks who want to play a magic elf or laser zap game?

In case I've been unclear about it: Free speech is the MOST important freedom we have. Everything else falls without it. I'm very sensitive to and supportive of stopping hate speech and bullying, but I am NOT supportive of censorship. Those two things are not the same.

I have this habit of screenshotting images and piling them up. Sometimes I go through and sort them, delete, explore. But mostly I don't. Yet the act of capturing the image is a compulsion... I feel satisfaction when I do it. Like a hunter... I did the same thing before the internet, clipping.

Cut up some old posts and my wife is sanding them for painting. Turns out "I like how you handle my wood" is not the romantic flex it sounded like in my head.

I'm the kind of #TTRPG creator who likes to make books. I'm not the kind who loves to do conventions and play games every day. I'm mostly introverted. I get angsty and weird about doing shows, which is why you never see me at any. I just like to make art, specifically in book form. Often as games.

Reading American Comics: A History by Jeremy Dauber. Now... this is not a groundbreaker or anything. It's a solid read, breezy, with a light touch. But Dauber definitely gives us a metric ton of stuff to look into. It's a buffet of comic book titles. Fun little read. I didn't a lot of this stuff.

FWIW i’ve switched to @bookshop.org for ebooks and Libro for audio books and with very few exceptions had the exact same experience as Amazon without the greasy aftertaste. Highly recommended.
