The Eminence in Shadow S1 I'm surprised how much I actually enjoyed this, making the MC an absolute goober who's wholeheartedly committed to this one stupid bit makes him so fucking endearing "I am Atomic" is such a fire catchphrase in both setup and execution

Chihayafuru Not only does this manga make Karuta a genuinely exciting sport to watch, but the level of care that went into crafting each character and their relationships to each other is top tier Genuinely an amazing manga, I can't praise it enough

Bugonia A lot of the fun in this movie is trying to figure out if the CEO is just great at bullshitting or if she's really not an alien It's a very bewildering movie, and honestly, I'm not sure if that helped with what it was trying to say, but it was very entertaining

Nukitashi: Hinami Route Funny enough, this almost felt more like a Rei route for most of it, creating such a compelling internal struggle of fighting for freedom against people that depend on the current status quo to survive. Hinami was cool, Rei is an amazing character

Zenless Zone Zero - Yidhari Event Story I think this should have been an agent story, because I actually liked it, Yidhari's scene with her mom hurts me, but the gameplay is so mind-numbingly boring Makes a slow beginning even slower, hoping it just goes back to the story

Even Monsters Like Fairytales Probably one of the best villainess manga I've read, the way it humanises everyone, the usage of visual metaphors throughout the manga, how peculiar yet endearing each character is I think everyone should read this one

Zenless Zone Zero - Lucia Agent Story I really like Lucia's relationship to Chestnut, really did a lot to make me like her character, but I think everything with the Nightwachers lore and Kieran was completely underbaked Just a lot of telling instead of showing

I hope we keep seeing these two together, they're fucking hilarious

Peacemaker S2 I really love how this show keeps pushing the "take something bad and make something good out it" mantra for all it's characters, mixed in with the absolute absurdity of the DC universe. It's just so fucking funny and heartwarming at the same time

Secrets of the Silent Witch This anime does really really great blend between making Monica OP while also giving her moments of vulnerability to endear us to her character. Alongside a solid cast, this is honestly my favourite new show of the season

New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt Panty and Stocking has always been hit or miss comedy wise, I'll laugh out loud here or there, but it's got Trigger level production so the shiny colours distract you when you ain't laughing Plus the character are always fun to watch

City The Animation I wasn't laughing as much as I was with Nichijou, but it's such an insanely charming show that I didn't mind at all

The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity I really like how this story explores classism while also having a genuinely super sweet romance. I hope we get more seasons because I wanna see future arcs getting adapted, like when they meet more Kikyo girls

First I thought Gachiakuta was gonna be this super edgy story, then it kinda seemed to mellow out... but now with this ep, I'm not so sure

The Summer Hikaru Died I think this is a good adaptation, but I also think it's way less scary than the manga, which I'm not sure if that's a me issue or something the anime just isn't able to capture properly

Nukitashi This show is like my favourite form of ecchi, where they just go balls deep into the absurdism and comedy of it's setting, while also creating a really engaging story about sexual freedom It definitely feels like a lot got cut out tho, the VN is so much better
