Horticulturalist growing in the magical land of Maine✨🇺🇸🏳️🌈 Zone 5b/6a
Begonia ‘Madame Queen’❤️💚 This is the first decent leaf it put out since acquiring it from Logee’s a few years ago. Sometimes you really do be taking care of a stump until you can hack it… which happens ideally before it croaks😅

I had a specific plant in mind while making this one. Someone saw what I was going for and bought it🤭 they’re definitely having a very merry holiday this year. I didn’t realize how lopsided that wreath was till just now

Enjoying the last few blooms before the real cold moves in. Sadly I do not think the cut flower patch is going to be as big next year. Maybe a two or three rows, but probably only doing zinnias and stuff that can be sown directly. We all work our butts off at day jobs and I’m a student as well.

I’m starting to think 2012 was actually the end of the world, we just didn’t know the apocalypse would occur in slow motion over a long period of time

Garden phlox, orange blossom, hardy fig🍊 all along my morning stroll. Indoor plants are starting to capture my attention again as the outside stuff starts to look kinda… haggard

Shocked to realize I forgot the original reason I joined this app (there are MANY reasons) Mainly I just wanted to fingerpaint on the internet without having to curate a vibe or anything at all, actually. Only took nine months to get right back to square one.

Zinnia ‘Señora’, some seed-grown dahlias, a section of the flower patch, and a bee that I accidently brought inside with my cuts. I carried it back out on a piece of junk mail and let it crawl back onto a sunflower where it tucked itself in and fell asleep🫢🥺😭🫠💗🐝

Chocorua and my first of the terrifying 25! Carters Ledge is the most beautiful trail I’ve ever been on. 11 miles round trip. I’ll admit the descent was nowhere near as exciting or ceremonious as the trilling climb up lol

Sunrise hike, Mt. Major, New Hampshire View to the north overlooking lake winnie I can’t believe this pic is 9 years old, practically from a bygone era. Tomorrow I head to Mt. Chocorua for a desperately needed day by myself in the woods and a picnic in a high place on a very large rock. YAY!

This is our resident redtail hawk that comes and watches us work from its perch every morning. It’s about time we think of a name for it. I’d rather the hawks control the vole population bc when I find a nest, I do the opposite of what you’re supposed to do and look the other way.

Imagine my surprise when I go to put on a fresh shirt for work and a big ol’ carpenter bee plops onto the ground mid-grab. I thought it was a late blooming June bug at first because I wasn’t wearing glasses and it made a pretty hefty ‘smack’ as it hit the ground😭

Any time there is a weather event, I have to shout in honor of my beauty school instructor: IT’S A SQUALL!!! This is a bit after the fact. Got a little hail. Mostly just pots knocked over and a few tattered leaves. I was just waiting for the tornado😂

Hemerocallis ‘Perceptive’ I picked this one to experiment with for this year and I’m not mad at it… but I do wish I had picked something entirely different😅 the pictures in the catalogs always look better than irl! Either way, it’s A double bloomer and is still gorgina

It’s the most wonderful time of the yeaaarr🌻🪻🌼🌸🌹 I didn’t even plant those spider flowers. All of them re-seeded from last year. As well as the coreopsis, a few cosmos, bachelors button, and even some scabiosa. Snap dragons are still going strong. Japanese beetles have discovered the zinnias🥲

The great ranunculus experiment went off without a hitch! Overall I’m happy with the 3-4 bunches I’ve picked so far. Though I ordered 4 different varieties (one color mix), they all ended up being multicolored anyway. No wonder the corms were on sale!
