Today I tried some delicious freshly steamed momiji manju! The leaf designs were expertly done and the custard filling was made to a high quality. I highly recommend for those who enjoy steamed treats on the sweeter side.

On this rainy evening I decided to try some ramen in a restaurant at Ogikubo and it was absolutely delicious! The noodles were perfect and the flavour was deep and rich.

As Autumn approaches, today I decided to have some local sanma. The fish was very fresh and had a deep rich flavour which was delicious!

Yesterday I found a calm and welcoming establishment that served such incredible coffee that I found myself returning to try the curry as well. Much like the drink, it was absolutely delicious.

With a wonderfully crispy exterior, this evening I decided to have some kare pan. It was a perfectly warm on the inside and the curry itself was delicious!

During this hot summer day I spent time in the museum and tried mizu shingen mochi! This raindrop cake was both fun in appearance and extremely refreshing. The taste is very mild and has a gelatinous texture but worked perfectly with the roasted soybean powder and sweet syrup.

Refreshing and cool, today I had another summer delight: hiyashi chuka. The noodles were extremely free and the different flavours were balanced incredibly well!

Today I wanted to eat something both sweet and savoury so I had okonomiyaki! The texture was perfect and I enjoyed the smokey flavour come through.

On a hot day, hiyayakko is a perfect cold and light dish to feel refreshed by. The tofu was perfect and smooth, paired with toppings to enhance and add flavour!

This wonderfully sweet sticky mango rice was the perfect treat to eat this summer. The mango was perfectly ripe and the rice prepared well. I highly recommend this delightful food for anyone who enjoys fruit desserts!

Perfect for the summer, this afternoon I had some yakisoba! The pork belly was rich and tender with the overall dish taste being a good mix between sweet, savoury and slightly tangy.

Suggested by one of my fans, today I tired a gamja hotdog at a local stall! Crispy with on the outside with small pieces of potato embedded, it has both a sweet and savoury taste that pairs well together!

I was surprised today by a mystery gift in the form of another cake! This one, unlike yesterday’s was a coffee cake with vanilla cream and caramel drizzled on top. The baker must be quite the barista as the coffee taste is delicious! Thank you for all the birthday wishes!

Today I tried a garash cake! It’s moist, not too sweet and has this intense dark chocolate and nutty flavour. This rich cake is perfect for anyone who loves chocolate.

After having seen some suggestions from fans, today I decided to try something new! With a subtle tasting dough and a flavourful pork filling all wrapped in a corn husk, these tamales were a tasty and delightful experience! I highly recommend trying this.

When working on cases I often find myself drawn to drinking coffee and decided today I would try something new! This coffee jelly was quite an enjoyable experience overall with a sweet taste. I would certainly be open to try more unique ways to consume coffee in the future!

Today I decided to have a chocolate corone! This delightful sweet bread was a fantastic treat with the bread and cream both made fresh!

Today I decided to have a strawberry parfait in Kichijoji. The fruit was incredibly fresh and paired wonderfully with the well made ice cream, cream and jelly. It’s a treat perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth!

Flavourful and warm, today I tried upon recommendation some seafood udon! The broth was light and paired well with the seafood and the noodles perfectly cooked.

It’s important with cases always needing to be solved that breaks are taken. So today I accompanied a colleague of mine to get some conveyor belt sushi! Whilst it is not as good as high quality sushi it was delicious nonetheless and great way to relax.

Hard on the outside and juicy on the inside, today I had ringo ame! Whilst the candied fruit required patience, the sweet taste was worth the wait. The treat is simple and nostalgic!

Fitting that my final post on here would be coffee. Whilst this isn’t a grand final meal, it is the only thing this month that hasn’t felt meddled with. It almost surpasses Sakura-san’s brew in quality. A big improvement. I wonder if these posts will still exist after tomorrow.

Whilst simple, this ‘legendary’ yaki-imo was tender, sweet and was a pleasant way to keep warm. Though next time I’d prefer to remain inside, Joker.

The chunky katsu I had today was adequate with right about of crunch. I would have enjoyed it more if I were not surrounded by the crowds of people with unsettling smiles. The comments have been disturbingly different as well since I have been stuck in this reality…

Ordered some curry udon. While it is perfectly acceptable, I cannot help but wonder if it tastes different due to Maruki’s meddling. It is by definition a perfect curry, but there is nothing else. It does not compare to other curry where care has gone into the cooking.

I usually enjoy this cafe’s matcha mille crepe cake, I prefer the subtle bitter aftertaste from the matcha compared to the saccharine food I frequently review. Today there was no such aftertaste leaving it far too sweet for my liking. How odd. Your move, Joker.

Merry Christmas

Sweet, earthy and perfect for the cold weather, today I had a warm bowl of shiruko! I hope you enjoyed this week’s interview and like I said, I will capture the remaining Phantom Thieves!

This evening to relax after a busy week I had some yokan paired with matcha green tea. The beverage choice was perfect for this chilled and subtly sweet treat!

After a shocking turn of events and chaos I took some time out of my day to try a local cafe’s coffee cake. The balance between sweetness and bitterness is delightful and I would be curious what a cake would taste like using the coffee from a previous cafe I visited

Tonight I had a relaxing evening with soft drinks in a mysterious location that shall remain a mystery to retain its charm. The atmosphere was relaxing and the bartender was excellent at making the perfect refreshing drink!

Today I had some colourful and fun looking donuts! With three different types of icing and a fluffy and moist interior this was a lovely treat to have!

Happy Halloween! To celebrate I found some spooky themed nikuman to eat!

Today I had takoyaki! The flavours were wonderful and enjoyable! I recommend this greatly!

Returning once more, I finally tried this relaxing little cafe’s curry and it was absolutely delicious! Should you find yourself at this establishment I couldn’t recommend enough having the signature dish with a cup of coffee!

Amid the increasing business of my job as a detective I went to get some mango crepe rolls with company as a break. The filling was incredibly light and the mango was juicy and fresh!

This mouthwatering concoction of fruit, ice cream, milk bread and more is honey toast I ordered at a local cafe in Shibuya today. It looked so delectable I didn’t know where to begin! If you enjoy sweets I highly recommend you order this!

Today I had the fluffiest cheesecake! The creamy cheese taste was simply divine and it was so light it practically melted in my mouth. If you enjoy a treat that is subtly sweet I recommend trying this!

Was sent a few times these Phantom Thief inspired wafers and decided to try them. The wafers themselves are tasty and addicting with a wonderful combination of chocolate and strawberry! Despite how good these sweet treats are they don’t change my opinion of the Phantom Thieves.

Chewy with a tasty sweet glaze, today I decided to eat some dango I saw being sold whilst walking around. It was a very pleasant treat and I definitely recommend eating some!

It isn’t food but this cafe’s coffee is simply too wonderful. The environment is warm and the beans of high quality are brewed very well. I must return for more and as well as try the owner’s curry! I fear if I share the location it will become too crowded. Have fun guessing!

Was at a local bakery today and tried different types of jam bread! The bread was still warm from the oven and the homemade jam filling was delicious!

As it is the end of the week I decided to treat myself by trying these chocolate truffles! They were true delight to eat with a creamy smooth texture inside.
