The Nintendo Year in Review having data for literally every game you've ever played on Switch is amazing. Anyway this was a great year.

Finally had time to print out another batch of Switch spines for my games so that my shelf doesn't look like an eye sore of red.

I played Path of Radiance for the first time ever last year and it has one of the most nuanced and interesting stories in any Nintendo game. Covers some really serious topics and themes. Such an amazing game. This and Radiant Dawn.

I've never really been into achievements on any platform. I usually don't think they add much to my experience. But I've been getting into RetroAchievements lately and at least for some games they are bringing new life into older games I usually wouldn't play. Proud of mastering Tetris on the NES.

In 2026 wizzy is looking for video editing work! I can do video essays, shorts, narration, podcasts, audio mixing, talking head video and more. While most of my experience is in gaming I'm open to anything. My style is detail oriented to let the voice of a piece sing without distraction.

Man emulators have gotten so good with shaders and all that to mimic pixels on an LCD panel. I feel like it wasn't that long ago where people were clowning on filters and shaders myself included. Never wanted to use them.

I've played 3 games on the Switch 2 almost back to back to back at 120hz with Silksong, Metroid Prime 4 and Hades II. It is glorious. I don't even think I had played a single game at 120hz before those and maybe that just means I don't play my PS5 enough but still.

Minor Metroid Prime 4 weapon spoilers but these have all been in trailers. I have my problems with Prime 4 but animations and art design are not one of them. Can we talk about how amazing the weapon change animations are in this game?

I beat Metroid Prime 4. I have a lot of thoughts but for now I'll just say I think it's a good/great video game... but I don't think it's a great METROID game. Level design is the biggest let down for me. Not the npc's and not the desert. Still had fun tho and hope to see an improved sequel.

One thing I'm coming to realize about Metroid Prime 4 as I hear l near the ending is that it feels like a good first 3D Metroid game for people and I wonder if it was deliberately designed that way.

I've played through two worlds of Metroid Prime 4 and I have general criticisms and concerns for the rest of the game but absolutely none of them have to do with the desert area or the NPC's.

The somewhat mixed reaction to Prime 4 is so intriguing to me. From everything I'm seeing it is doing everything a good Prime game should do so I'm very fascinated to play for myself and see where people are differing in opinion. Can't imagine it disappointing for me.

Playing through Metroid Prime 2 for the first time in forever and it's extremely good. I really hope it gets the remastered treatment at some point.

The 360 is a nostalgic console for me just because of the ways I got it and just that time in gaming. I got it from winning a $500 best buy gift card from 1up.com. It also didn't have wifi built in at the time so I had to find weird ways to play online. Like connect it to a laptop through Ethernet.

So I finally looked at the game awards nominees. It is an actual crime that Mario Kart World did not get at least nominated for best music/score. Like actually baffling with the quality and quantity of music in that game. There's literally over 7 hours of original or newly arranged music. Crazy.

Am I crazy or are there just an insane amount of great games that have come out in the last couple months or are coming out in the next couple couple months? Like I can't keep up but there's so much I want to play. I don't remember the last few years being this nuts.

Ok yeah not a fan of hearing about you saving a bunch of galactic federation troopers and teaming up with them on your journey in Prime 4. Maybe it'll be fine but just doesn't sound like something that should be in a Metroid game.
