It is with deep sadness & hope in the resurrection that we share that this morning, the Right Reverend Catherine M. Waynick died. Bp. Cate served faithfully as the Bishop Provisional of the legacy Diocese of Eastern Michigan from 2017 to 2019, before which she was the X Bishop of Indianapolis.

In September, Plainsong Farm received exciting news: it was awarded a $42,500 grant! To secure the grant, the farm needed to contribute $7,500. Thanks to generous support at the annual FUNdraiser, that amount was raised, allowing the grant funds to be released.

Bp. Paula Clark of the diocese of Chicago visited recently with an immigrant detainee from that diocese being held at a the North Lake facility in Baldwin. Our Dir. for Mission & Community Engagement, the Rev. Canon Nurya Love Parish, has been coordinating ongoing pastoral support for Willian.

The Episcopal Church is governed by all of us — bishops, clergy, and lay leaders together. Every three years, the General Convention gathers to pray, legislate, and discern how God is calling The Episcopal Church forward. Each diocese sends lay and clergypersons to be part of the General Convention.

The Treasurer plays a vital role in stewarding the gifts entrusted to our diocese, helping ensure that our resources are cared for faithfully and transparently. They work closely with diocesan leadership to support our common mission with integrity and care.

In order to accommodate upcoming Dismantling Racism training and our new opportunity to pray Noonday Prayer with Bishop Anne each week, we’re moving the office hour to 11 a.m. on Thursday each week beginning on August 28.

College-aged humans through millennials are invited to spend Labor Day Weekend at Camp Chickagami. This retreat includes solo time, group meals and worship, and optional small groups like “Holy Homework: Faith & College” and “God, Grit, and Grind: Young Professionals & Faith.”

Our dear sibling in Christ, Jelecia Ford Geraghty, died early this morning, surrounded by family. Many of you know Jelecia as a dear friend, active lay leader in our diocese, & dedicated outreach volunteer at her parish, St. Paul's in Flint. We'll share funeral arrangements when they're available.
