I’m a SH4 apologist. It has so much going for it even with the poor gameplay design (a lot it due to rushed dev with less resources ty konami) but the narrative hooks you right at the premise. Of course I defend game SH4, Rule of Rose is GOAT for me and its gameplay design is awful.

Hot Take of mine is that I prefer FMA’s 2003 anime over Brotherhood. It’s darker but the main reason is that by the end it’s still keeps its focus between the brother’s journeys. Brotherhood/manga becomes Save The World and the stakes are much higher but it overshadows the original emotional hook.

It’s really easy to default in believing (thing) has always been like This or that Right Now is uniquely destroying what has always Been. I’m especially begging those under 30 to step back and study what it was like thru recent decades and what led to where we are now. Nothing is ever unprecedented.

istg if it gets to a point where artists will have to sell all nsfw art thru nondescript mail orders like it was 3 decades ago, so be it. (It’s irt Kickstarter banning nsfw) There has never been a time where censorship crackdowns wiped out art completely, artists just find new ways to reach others.

WT changed ClawShot’s rating back to YA (honestly I was so sure they wouldn’t) but I’m still going to get my personal site ready, I’m tired of dealing with their censorship bs after all these years

At least this has kicked my ass into getting my updated site done and I won’t have to deal with WT’s censorship which is the worst I’ve ever experienced.

ClawShot got marked as mature by me misclicking and to switch it back to Young Adult it has to go under review. Hays Code was self enforced! So was Comics Code Authority! These weren’t laws and look what still lasted DECADES and destroyed careers/freedom of expression. US comics industry never recovered from it bc comics aimed at adults still aren’t a thing, that’s why manga filled the market gap.

The only hardline is whether someone is *actually* hurting someone else irl. Feeling grossed out/offended is not the same as getting hurt and assuming someone is dangerous from the fiction they consume is cop shit. Thought Crimes are a fascist concept, censorship is a tool of oppression.
