I write stories of bad ppl doing bad things but I’ve noticed over the last decade how if there’s a “bad” guy then the narrative has to condemn them 10000% and good guys can’t do a bad, they need to be absolved of any wrongdoing. There’s no nuance, it’s weird!

How do I say this… it’s unprofessional to critique a piece of work for the attention. Difference between talking in private between pals and making it a whole thing on socials, it only ever comes across as mean spirited and immature. The ones who complain the loudest can’t back it up either.

Went to scad wanting to do pre-vis in anim, majored in Seqa bc it’s where you learn draftsmanship, started a webcomic bc pals did them, got a gig drawing Lumberjanes, kept drawing my webcomic. I ended up in comics unintentionally and now I’m moonlighting in gamedev 🫡

I’d be happier if I could live in ignorance of everything and not have to contend with the reality of living in a world run by monsters but that doesn’t stop it from being true. At least I have loved ones and community plus the imaginary stories in my head, it all keeps me going 🙏

One of the upsides of using unity instead of a niche engine like AGS or rpgmaker is that I can do fancy stuff like shaders and post processing. The downside is I actually have to learn how to make shaders 💀 there’s a graph mode so I don’t even have to write code but it’s still so alien

So the bug was a numbers thing: Esther’s supposed to follow Dan around but the distance limit was too close that she wanted to literally be on top of his model. Since both of the sprites have collision, Esther just kept bouncing him away and so on… Art imitates life, huh

When an artist I had followed casually supports jkr and then doubles down on it siiiiiiigh *unfollows*

It’s not a secret how long my comic pages take 🙂‍↕️ a full color page is typically 20-25hrs and a monochrome page is around 15hrs but depends on numbers of panels/characters/complex BGs. I’m a perfectionist tho so slower than I could be.

I wish I could shake webtoon readers who believe I’m drawing a free-to-read comic just to grift ppl. There are much better ways to scam ppl outta money in the year 2025 and none of them is drawing a webcomic!!

Gonna specify: huge corporation greed =/= indie creator trying to get by. YouTube is worse than ever but they’re also giving creators less and less adsense so they have to try more ways of getting support. It doesn’t just suck for consumers, indie creators are struggling too.
