Returned to swim yesterday to a little treasure of a spot on the Exe which is near to Morrisons in Tiverton. Local swimmers call it the Orchard.

Happy #TenTors weekend. Very proud of the effort and grit of the kids tackling 35/45/55 miles over #dartmoor. Having been one of the supporters at the finish line it's honestly very emotional to see them limp across amazed and thankful to have it done. Good luck to them all!

Did a run yesterday where the rest/water stop had a whole barn buffet. I am now ruined for any other event. If you're a woman who likes running/walking and doesn't mind a bit of a challenge with good scran along the way #SheUltra is for you. Those potatoes honestly powered me to the end.

Easter return to the Witches Pool/Black rock falls/ what my mate calls #dartmoor 's infinity pool. Quick dip today and cold enough to burn so I'm guessing about 5/6 degrees.. this time of year I get this pool on the Lyd to myself, will never take it for granted.

Record breaking numbers for Teignmouth #parkrun today and the pier is still just about holding on. Lovely breeze made it very enjoyable before my dash into the sea and session in the community sauna. Quite the nicest way to start a weekend.

My lovely tuxedo cat died last night and today every black thing I catch in my peripheral vision is him I think. Going to be a while before that stops.

I am 51 years old and still if I mention an ache or pain to my mum she says "have you fallen over?". #happymothersday

Such a wonderful atmosphere for yesterday's #Grizzly2026 around Beer, Seaton and Branscombe. Mizzly old day but the kindness and spirit of the marshalls and the other runners really do make it a special kind of race. Yes it was hard but honestly I had the best time.

After rain stopped Exeter Riverside #parkrun play for 3 weeks nice to be back marshalling, keeping runners off the cattle grid and in charge of the defib just in case...

Did my first moor night run on #dartmoor. Only fell over once but into gorse so now I have lots of little cuts. Managed to avoid terrible bog. Some river crossing so wet feet and at one point the promised snow started but given how badly it could have gone I am massively relieved.

Teignmouth for this morning's #parkrun lovely crowd and Marshalls and I got a sea dunk and sauna afterwards..perfect Saturday morning

The sun is almost out so given I'm between jobs I used the emergency bikini in the boot on an impromptu trip to Exmouth

An evening at St Nicholas Priory is never dull, not least because it's an opportunity to roam this very old building and reacquaint yourself with Martha the taxidermied raven beloved of the former curator Maud Tothill.

Lost Gardens of Heligan #parkrun today. Enjoyably lumpy course with a bonus small water crossing. Mud rating 7/10.

Worship at the mothership of chippies. Where my great uncle delivered ingredients and became nicknamed Ted Tatao. Where as a child I sat with my mum on the wall nearby stuffing piping hot fish and chips into our mouths. May it never close.

Pre Christmas swim in the Teign, 8 degrees. Friend's 80 yo mother says a snack after a cold swim is a shivery bite so today's was my first mince pie of the season.
