Opportunities with Channel 4 in Leeds Great to meet the team at Channel 4 recently to cover their ‘4skills’ programme. They run this from their National HQ in Leeds, specifically to open up careers in TV and digital media for young people right here. What are they offering?

One of the highlights of the summer recess was spending time with the Morley Blue Watch Team at Morley Fire Station. Our firefighters have been recognised as some of the top performers in the region and it was clear to see why during my time with them.

Great bank holiday spent on the doors in Drighlington, finished with a stop at The Railway. Thank you to their staff for the excellent hospitality. Many thanks as always to everyone who took the time to speak with us. Door knocking is for life, not just for election time!

Children’s Social Care Report Just before recess, the Education Select Committee published our Children’s Social Care report. This is an enquiry that has been running since 2023 and covers an extremely important subject.

Wonderful to see Morley buzzing for the Health & Wellbeing event! Huge thanks to the organisers and stall holders for such useful chats on everything from cancer screenings to school uniform exchanges. We’ve taken several actions away and will be back in touch with you soon.

Introducing the first AI prototype of a British MP🇬🇧🤖 When constituent and local business owner, Jeremy Smith, approached me with this idea, I was very excited to work with him. The AI revolution is happening and we must embrace it to see how it can be useful, in all sectors.

The system for teaching children with special education needs is completely broken. It has not been working for years. School staff and support workers are doing their absolute best to make it work but it simply isn't serving the needs of most SEND students.
