Added more steam games to the gigantic pile that is the family library. Added two family members to it recently and gave them instant decision paralysis forever. And passed 200 games installed onto the steam deck. Still adding steam games to the Thor but its a way more involved process.

Hazbin Hotel s2 was great. A bit of a dip at the end of act 1, and you kinda get the feeling they were in talks but weren't sure about the Helluva Boss merge, but a very strong act 2 more than makes up for it.

Guild Wars 1 update? New backend? Further updates? CONTROLLER SUPPORT? ...actually, since that's proton compatibility for the deck/machine, does this mean GW1 MOBILE via Winlator/FEX? Can my thor play this? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Another week, another solid Gnosia episode.

The Steam Machine's success is going to completely hinge on the price point and how available it is. I think the cap is $649 before it goes off a cliff, and for that you get an emulation beast at minimum that can still play most non-kernel things well. The thing needs to be available at retail.

...okay, in all seriousness the Steam Machine 2.0 is a monster for emulation (that can play more steam games than you'd think), and FEX/Frame is huge for android devices. Even the controller is nice!

First thing Im doing with the GabeCube is increasing the ram. It's laptop memory so should be able to do that... Now if only the prices didnt suck right now.

Trying to figure out the order the Gnosia anime will use, since the game is somewhat nonlinear outside of some boss loops and the anime is making (good) small changes. Want to see how the True Ending & Beyond shakes out narratively.

Gnosia ep4 continues to impress. Gnosia dub ep1 was *SO GOOD* props! Morgan Berry as Setsu is an inspired choice.

So Gnosia is doing fine in Japan but is underperforming elsewhere. Actually getting memed to death. Actual shame because its one of the better adaptations I've seen thus far, with ep2 being better than ep1. It'll explain everything, *everything*, so just... give it a chance.

Watching and reading through some of the Gnosia ep1 reviews and threads. ...actually kinda funny reading theories. You can tell some people played the game and are trying to steer the discourse. But its reminding me of Dead Mount Death Play in how its not sticking with audiences despite quality.

GNOSIA ep1 was everything I wanted it to be and more. Im so freaking hyped for this, and 21 episodes is *more* than enough to cover everything. Watch it. Watchitwatchitwatchitwatchit.

So Disgaea 7 Complete is out on NS2. However, since they didnt update the WW NS1 version, and Ns1 and Ns2 pvp is linked, Ns1 pvp just doesn't exist any more. Its a hard crash on NS1 copies. NISA can fix it by giving the anni patch to ns1.

Was checking for local cons. As usual, slim pickings so I check to see which LLC is covering my area. Okay, Ecchi Con in Denver. Somewhat amusing to think about, so *click* ...they have a card game, "Duel of Desires". Speaks of my priorities that I'm ignoring the lewd and just want to fix the UX.

Got recommended to just use the Harada art for the Disgaea Makai-ism card and make them a duo. ...I think my renderer mangled it. Badly!

Kyouran Makai-ism is basically just Disgaea Musou and I'm okay with that. You can see how the engine has progressed even from the trailer. Just wish I had better art available for him. And yes, his name really is "N/A".

I think another reason why I'm struggling with the card game projects is just that I dont get the same "satisfaction" from just plugging in data into a spreadsheet and seeing the result, over messing with layers in photoshop. Yes, its dumb. Yes, the new way is *far* better and more consistent. Bleh

So, one of the problems in mlpdcg was that the early game was slow if you bricked your hand. The "work/coin" mechanic mostly solved it, but it had limited design space. For UmaDCG, Work is Mood. Starts at Normal, and can go -2 to Awful and +2 to Great. So you go into mood debt to play cards early.

For my last yap of the night... I keep on mentioning mlpdcg. My Little Pony (Unofficial) Digital Card Game was my 3rd tcg design after AMV and Bliss Stage, and the first to see some success. I exited the fandom around season four when the actual TCG got created and thongs started getting weird(er).

Work on Disgaea Netherwar is daunting for one big reason: the game is going to sail well past normal word counts. Its a very text complex game. Dunno if its even fun. And my brain just sees the amount of work ahead and just... doesn't. I know that each card done is one card closer to being done...

Umamusume Unofficial Digital Card Game now has a codex, so the rules are somewhat settled. Its 80% mlpdcg's core, with the new stuff basically being more stuff to track but itxs digital numerical counters so should be fine (the five stats) with more design space on exchange. Disgaea still going.

Looks like global players of umamusume are starting to crash out a bit. There's the typical post-launch slump, but this appears to be more aggressive. Not helping matters is that the New Player Experience is in tatters, due to low rates offbanner and players being told to sandbag pulls until Nov.

I cant get the Umamusume DCG to leave my head. It'll work with only minor adjustments to what mlpdcg was doing. *I have the data*. I know its fun. Apples becomes Goals. Coin/Work becomes Mood. Your team of three racers gain Inspiration at 0/4/7 goals. No attacks, no HP, just act and react.

...I think I mentally wandered into how to make Umamusume a card game, using MLP:DCG as a core that I *know* works and have years of playtest data... But I need to get Disgaea Netherwar playable.

...hunh. forced out of group A in umamusume, but I'll take Taurus Gold from group B just fine. And this is why you bring debuffers.

I suspect I'll get humbled fast, but I did secure the Grade A path in umamusume pvp today with Gold Ship winning me a 4/5, so I got that going for me.

The Nikke curse continues: anyone that beats me in the arena gets stuffed in the very next round. Treasure Bay is underperforming though, but it might be more due to an incomplete team. TFrima needs replaced.

Looking at my city in wplace... we clearly have some geek and anime fans around here, but zero meet ups. Negative, even. The nearest convention is even three hours away! ...considering that our sole video game shop is a tiny gamestop (with awesome employees)... ugh.

Finally settled on the game install list for deck/pc as both were recently rebuilt... just to attempt mitigating decision paralysis. 162 on deck, 52 on pc, 9 overlapping. +4 non-steam games (FFXIV, GW2, Nikke, Outfox). Now time to mod things.

Well, reinstalling everything on the main computer. Was going to do so anyway in a month or two, but the bootloader had other ideas and my philosophy on repairing computer issues is "nuke it from orbit". Lots of backups, at least. And hey, updates!

Finally got everything installed onto the steam deck that my wife and I wanted. 160 games, all verified running, still around half full for future games. Only thing really left is non-steam games. Maybe it's because I love just updating stuff, but I think I should've switched to CachyOS sooner.

Got the itch to reinstall stuff, so now the steam deck has CachyOS. ...now to just reinstall 130+ games.

Including two humble bundles, my steam sale haul. The sales are actually alright tbh, its just PC was way more niche and thus you'd get the $5 skyrims and such. Since the sales no longer include free cards, the price on them increased dramatically, which has led to other cards also going up.

So if Umamusume is really just moe Monster Rancher, and Umamusume is popular... we just logically need a new Monster Rancher, right? ...right? The market is ready for it I swear, especially if its polished and has a solid pc port.

Figured, hey, I'm endgame cruising Nikke, I can start a new android gacha game as a f2p, theres a few neat ones that just started. Bounced off Shadowverse. Didn't bounce off Umamusume. But damn its a painful start. Its a roguelite, you build up, I get it. But... Ow.

Watched someone buy ten used copies of dk tropical freeze and I swear those are going to be involved in crime somehow.

An advanced leader for Disgaea Netherwar. The wedding celebration subset is for people that want to push deckmaking to its limit: they want as many ranks on the field as possible. All in the spirit of togetherness! Wanted to push some fields to their limit to make further adjustments.

Crashed out on the new Shadowverse. Why, on a 12 game losing streak, am I being matched with people constantly higher ranked than I am? And why, in a game that you pretty much have to do the "win five as everybody" ASAP, can you only afford to field one good deck? My havencraft is awful...

I'll still posit that Asagi in Disgaea 7 doesn't strictly need an English dub, as this incarnation of her is based off of the Makai Wars JP gacha that is now defunct. I'll also posit that we really should've had the patch months ago since it has *no other VA work needed*.

While Disgaea 7 Complete only has the NS2 SKU WW, that does not necessarily mean the patch that we've been waiting on is exclusive to NS2. Having all the dlc, then purchasing the Asagi DLC and downloading the 2.0 patch will give you a functionally identical game to D7C, minus the intro screen text.

I'm *still* downloading stuff onto the switch 2. It might be done by Monday. Servers still getting slammed and I'm not helping lol. Just waiting for the Disgaea 7 Complete announcement. Probably just limited to NS2 for WW while everyone else just gets the functionally same Asagi dlc + patch.

Who thought auto-download on system transfer for the NS2 was a good idea? Servers were already going to be slammed before people had to re-download their entire libraries. Aside from that, I'm feeling... alright with my purchase. At least my existing library runs better, and that's all I wanted.

Steam Card Farming finally, finally done for this half of the year. Though the cards/gem prices have gone way up from what I'm used to. Actually got back $30, which is about what I get for a full year and with usually way more game bundles obtained (I've been more picky this year). Hunh.

Had to relearn that lesson it seems, but I got lucky. Spelled some liquid onto the pc. Dust mesh stopped most of it, the isolated front IO caught the remainder. The IO was quickly vac+electric dusted+ 91% alcohol'd, but if all I lost was a type c port I'll be happy. Now to change the setup...
