Superb job by the National Archives of Ireland 🇮🇪 Free and swift access to the 1926 census. I expected the site to crash or run slow, but it's been seamless

First trip today to the new Waterfront cafe at Rother Valley. Superb job, well done Rotherham Borough for their continued investment. If I recall, it was supposed to be a joint project with Derbyshire and Sheffield , but both pulled out leaving Rotherham holding the can

Disgracefully, tonight was my first visit to the Lyceum. My big brother saw the Human League there in '81. Anyone else out there with memories of it as a music venue ?

Canal path proper closed between Cadman Street and Bacon Lane , due to tow path collapse. Can't see that being a quick fix, it's had fencing up for months, but people kept throwing it in the canal and going through. There's is a diversion in place, it's just not very nice

Work has started on a buy to let apartment scheme on Nursery Street. Around 270 homes will eventually be completed on the project. Well placed with the riverside and close to both town and Kelham. Also has to be a ripple out effect around Lady's Bridge and Wicker

Let's get behind this, I think we are in with a fantastic chance. Not only do we have a great musical heritage, but the city is revitalised and new projects like Harmony Works will be delivered by 2029

The Sheffield Flood devastated parts of Sheffield, on 11 March 1864, when the Dale Dyke Dam broke as its reservoir was being filled for the first time. At least 300 people died and more than 600 houses were damaged or destroyed by the flood.

Yesterday Kemi Badenoch was on BBC Breakfast, she was so anxious to score points on Labour, she parroted Trump by accusing the RAF of 'just hanging around' in the Middle East. Must be lovely for the air and ground crew , support staff and families in a war zone to hear they are slacking on the job.

Walking along the Bridle Stile today, first mentioned in 1299. Probably considerably older, this pack horse trail carried good into the small town of Sheffield. Estimated population around 1500-2000 at the time. This section climbs out of Mosborough towards High Lane then onto Gleadless

Photo bombed , Angel Street this Saturday. My family are shown living on Angel Street in the 1850's ,60's and 70's , occupations of Cab driver, milliner, groom and servant. They lived in Angel Yard, to the rear of the Angel Hotel (destroyed in the blitz).
