XR Ireland is the first Irish SME in the Virtual Worlds Association. Through this membership, we are bringing two platforms into the European ecosystem:

Belfast demo motivation: fixing coordination training. #JESIP data (Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles): - 33% of police commanders NEVER exercised jointly - Only 8% train jointly every few months Yet they are expected to coordinate seamlessly during major incidents.

What the #demo validated: architectural decisions hold up, #DTDL foundation works for exercise modelling, no-code authoring for domain experts is viable, multi-deployment is technically achievable.

The #Technology in a #SimulationPlatform is the least interesting part. The interesting part is what happens between people. #Emergency #response failures are almost never caused by lack of equipment. What breaks down is the coordination between the agencies operating that equipment.

5 things we showed at the Belfast engineering demo. No slide decks. No-code exercise authoring. Semantic foundation built on Digital Twin metamodels. Local generative AI for context-aware interactions. Multi-deployment architecture: cloud, on-premise, offline edge. Interoperability by design.

We made a deliberate decision: >90% of SimexBuilder's v0.1 technology stack would be European owned. Emergency simulation data is sensitive. Participant performance records. Organisational vulnerability assessments. Scenario details describing weaknesses in infrastructure and response protocols.

Most corporate organisations keep emergency training exercises in a tabletop format: sitting in a conference room talking about what they would do. Then face the reality of staff freezing when it actually happens.

Belfast has something most European cities are still trying to build. Most people outside Northern Ireland do not know about it. The Digital Catapult Digital Twin Centre is not a co-working space with a fancy name. It is a facility where digital twin technology meets industrial application.

For 18 months, #SimexBuilder only existed in specifications and disconnected prototypes. Architecture diagrams. Interface definitions. A metamodel built on digital twin semantic modelling, the same language used in industrial IoT, applied to emergency training scenarios. Not a weekend hack.
