I actually didn’t read Tolkien at all until I was about 15 as I’d been busy trying to understand my past in canonical (largely stolen) Russian and French literature. But then I read The Hobbit, LOTR trilogy, The Silmarillion, all of which I had to order in from the UK.

Excuse this blatant brag, but i have a cardigan on. And let me tell you it is fucking superbe.

Straight out into the garden this morning, taking the scenic route into the studio. This morning I’m just wrapping the editions to keep them perfect before they go off to their new homes. It’s still very hot but the breeze is heaven.
