All sympathy to recipients of UK oda facing cuts - and also to FCDO aid staff having to deal with the cut. I wonder how many aid staff will just leave, and what the long-term consequences will be for UK capacity?

This is from UK Aid Statistics. Today's decision to cut ODA to 0.3% of GNI takes us back 30 years - and that is before 1st year refugee costs are taken out. A sad day.

Very sad to learn that Stephen Biggs has died. He was an inspiration on agricultural and rural development at @IDS.ac.uk in the early 1970s, and remained both committed and grounded right to the end. RIP. @petertaylor-uk.bsky.social
